Bitcoin & đŸ«‚ Oh and dimly trying to think through interesting issues. I think that I don’t have a right to force you to do anything other than not harm me or others. Seems like most people I interact with in the real world disagree with this statement. To be fair.. the devil is in definition of “harm”.

If this can’t be used to ban anything else, then sure. I just haven’t figured out whether this bill is specific or broad in a bad way yet.

Not dumb. AI won’t always be hostile, the idea is that it will sometimes not care about our goals, and not caring for our goals is a competitive advantage. Some will not care and also be competitive. They will get all the resources. If we are actively struggling against one of these things, then privacy is going to be an existential problem.

Welcome đŸ«‚đŸ«‚đŸ«‚

You’ve probably heard this, but because there isn’t an algo constantly shoving stuff into your feed, you’ll likely want to follow lots of people.

If we imagine a future where we have great privacy in all regards and also AI becomes able to work better than humans at everything, then I think we won’t be able to resist them. Part of the hypothetical upcoming struggle between humans and AI is actually knowing somehow which is which
maybe web of trust can fix this.. but that means everyone needs to pay like 10x as much to a trusted person than an untrusted person and that seems
 unlikely

Really unfortunate typo placement 😂

Putting aside the arguments about whether AI will or will not ever be able to directly compete with humans in the economy (as opposed to enabling humans to do more) for a moment, assume with me temporarily that we live in a future where AI is outcompeting you and the other humans for the jobs you can do, and it’s siphoning off all the bitcoin in the process. Does that change your view of KYC? Why or why not?
