but in noStrudel none of the Fediverse names render any symbols in them.
so for example :windmilloffriendship: when it appears in a Fediverse name is supposed to render a Swastika icon.
if a person has several icons in their name it becomes so stretched out on noStrudel that the actual name itself may not even fit on the screen.
at the VERY LEAST you should implement a change that allows long "names" like

you're right. like a fool, i spoke before thinking. it's just that until now i never had to consider the landing part. i only ever considered the improbability of going back.
i was today years old when i realized already fake moon landings were even faker than i thought
i always knew it would be practically impossible to overcome moon gravity to go back but i failed to consider how hard even landing on the moon in the first place is since everything that lands on earth relies on the atmosphere to slow down whether it is by using wings of the space shuttle or by using a parachute
mars has atmosphere too
Space X rockets landing back on earth even though they don't use wings or parachute still benefit from the atmosphere slowing them down before they use thrusters for the final touch down
but landing on the moon you would be in free fall without anything to slow you down at all ...
if you jump out of airplane without parachute you only reach 120 mph terminal velocity due to air resistance, which is less than top speed of most sports cars ... the atmosphere is THAT effective at slowing down a falling object ...
but on the moon there is none ...
so even landing a drone on the moon without completely destroying it is already challenging enough in 2024 ... they managed to land one without destroying it this week but it tipped over during landing and is on its side ...
yet they want you to believe they not only landed a manned craft ( which would be much heavier ) on the moon in 1969 but somehow got it back to earth as well ...
they can't even get that thing back up after it tipped over but they want us to believe they can launch a space craft with a crew off the surface of the moon and back to earth.
and that they did it half a century ago.
i mean you could send SOMETHING back but it would have to be extremely light.
a capsule with people inside is fairly heavy. to launch it from the surface of the moon you would need a fair bit of fuel, which itself would add even more weight.
so what they accomplished today is infinitely less daunting than what they fraudulently claimed to have accomplished 50 years ago.
actually let me rephrase that. landing on the moon is extremely hard and harder than landing on mars because there is no atmosphere so you can't parachute down.
still, it is getting back that is the hard part.
landing on the moon is trivially simple. if you can land on mars you can land on moon.

i previously tried complaining about this to nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr but the color of "repost" icon is too pale. in the screen shot above it is activated ( reposted ) but you can barely see it form the color because the pale green is too close to pale gray that it is normally.
the basic idea here that nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr needs to acknolwedge is that human visual perception is such that we do not see color except when the patch is large in size.
this is the basis behind the bayer sensors used by almost all modern cameras
where color resolution is only half of regular image but nobody notices it because of how the eyes work.
also in HDMI cables sometimes color information is at half resolution in the same way and for the same reason - because we simply can't see color on a single pixel level ... we need a LARGE SURFACE to see color ... this is why color swatches at Home Depot are the size of credit card not thumbnail ...
in practice this means that if you want that "repost" icon to be seen as green it either has to be bright green or the entire button has to light up and not just the lines of graphic on it.
in the same screen shot i posted you can see towards the left the "reply" icon is clearly seen as green, because it is both larger and a brighter green color.
and "write note" button is also clearly seen as green even though it is the same exact shade as the "repost" icon, but much larger in area.
yes i changed the default color scheme by toning down the green - but this change should have only applied to LARGE SURFACES of green where it becomes overwhelming.
it shouldn't have affected tiny green graphics where the color is already barely visible.
basically the color of LINES and SURFACES must be treated differently.
you should be able to tone down the color of SURFACES without muting the color of LINES.
the wider the surface the more muted the color should be and the thinner the line the more saturated the color. this is just to compensate for how we perceive color.
our brains use color information to identify object as a whole NOT to identify its shape. in our case here the BUTTON is the object and the TEXT or GRAPHIC in that button is the SHAPE. we can't apply subtle shade of color to that SHAPE and expect it to be noticeable.
so for example a diet is simply a good idea taken to such an extreme that it now kills people.
for example you start with the idea that High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad ... and you develop this idea further making it more and more extreme until you end up with Keto / Carnivore diet.

for example Raw Vegans call this "detoxing" ... that's when you feel like crap on their diet but they tell you to keep doing it anyway. there is no actual "detoxing" occurring - in fact there are orders of magnitude more toxins in raw vegan diet than in almost every other diet including SAD ( Standard American Diet ) but the fact that "detoxing" is the opposite of what is happening only makes it better as propaganda.
likewise Carnivores always brag about how fast their wounds heal ... because actually wounds not healing is a sign of Scurvy which you will get by following their advice.
and Urbanists brag about how much they enjoy riding bicycles and preach the importance of never wearing helmets and never obeying any traffic rules and when they get hit by a car while running a red light they say it's all the fault of "Car-Brain" etc ...
it's always about taking any good idea to absurd extreme, ignoring all calls for any kind of common sense, blaming all problems on other side, while claiming the reason your system isn't working is because the application of it isn't extreme enough ...
