Adding to my reading list.

He dipped his toe in so often it finally fell off. 😁
Announcing Olas 0.1!
Olas is an Instagram-like client for iOS and Android.
Olas 0.1 provides a feed of videos (like those on flare/highlighter/zap.stream), picture events (kind:20, a new kind that no client had implemented yet) and the classical short notes with images attached we are all used to.
When publishing images, Olas uses the new kind:20, in a future release you’ll be able to control whether to publish as a short note so that it appears in microblogging clients too.
Some more features already available:
✅ blossom uploads 🌸
✅ NIP-22 replies
✅ Reels (still quite buggy though)
✅ Edit your preferred blossom servers
✅ Edit your nutsack mint list
✅ Image download optimization (to be gentle with mobile data plans)
Coming next:
- NIP-55 (Amber) Logic
- Fix NIP-46 (bunker) login
- complete NIP-60 (nutsack) wallet
- Add NIP-57/61 zaps + nutzaps
- Bookmarks
- NIP-29 support: you’ll be able to create private or public communities where to share photos and videos with; imagine creating a private group just for your family or friends where you can publish pictures you don’t want to share with the world; or a community for artists.
Android users got a chance to get a glimpse of it already since nostr- active app stores like Zapstore are 100x easier to work with than permissioned stores.
EXPECT BUGS, this is an alpha release.

The version on iOS is called Snapstr.
The first time I saw Bitcoin was in 2013 and like most people, the first time I saw it, I laughed at it. Called it a scam. It was at $370. In 2021 I got into “crypto”. At that time I bought $50 worth of Bitcoin. I told people I bought it just to be able to say I had Bitcoin. I still didn’t understand it. I had done no research. Fast forward to today. 3 years of reading and trying to understand and here I am shouting from the roof tops to all that can hear….BUY BITCOIN. What we have here is an amazing technology. You can send large values of it across the world in minutes, with finality without the need of a third party. You can travel anywhere with a seed phrase holding billions of dollars of Bitcoin. No one can take it from you. No one can stop you using it, it has a fixed reducing inflation rate and…. What many don’t fully appreciate, a fixed total supply. The Bitcoin network is the largest computer network in the world and the ledger is secured by a massive amount of energy. Its unstoppable. Maybe you should get some in case it catches on. 😉
Why should you NEVER upload your #Bitcoin recovery seed to the cloud? Imagine handing a stranger the key to your digital gold vault. That's what you're doing! Cloud services can be hacked, leaving your precious #BTC vulnerable. Keep it old school: pen and paper. Curious about safer options? Let's chat. #SecurityFirst #NotYourKeysNotYourBitcoin #[0] https://youtu.be/PQIRiIA0NkU
I have my seed phrases stamped on Titanium plates. Onekey Keytag. Small, portable and nearly indestructible.
We need an expanding network, not a shrinking network. Keep it going.
And here we are. Eyes open and understanding. Thankful for that.
What’s the game plan? Make sure that that nobody can ever afford to do anything other than pay for something they need.
Bhutan. Playing the game on expert level.
I am seeing replies when using Damus but not when using Primal.
Nothing. I think he will have the answer by tomorrow.
Ok. Thank you for the advice. Much appreciated.
I have 2 phones with separate Nsec. Both connected the same way to the same servers. I should be able to send a DM from one phone to another via my private server. That’s what I think anyway. But it keeps failing. I have tried multiple settings, with Orbot on and off. If I use the supplied DM servers then the message goes through. Trying to use my private server fails.
The onion address is connected to your start9 server? Do you have turn on the SOCKS proxy in 0xchat?
I have tried that setting both on and off with still no better result. Yes, the .onion address is the address generated by the Nostr Relay on the Start9 server.
Hello. I am testing Oxchat and trying to use my own server. I have a Start9 server running the Nostr Relay. I have added my private keys to the relay using Hex format so they are white listed. I have added the .onion address to Oxchat and there is a green tick saying it’s connected. I have Orbot running. Now when I try to send a message I get a red exclamation mark and the message does not get sent. I have also tried the .local address with and with out Orbot and get the same result. It’s proving to be quite frustrating not knowing where I am going wrong. Any ideas where I am going wrong? #asknostr #start9 #Oxchat
I am using a nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll server to run both.
After a long break from reading and mostly sticking to audiobooks, I started reading The Genesis Book by nostr:npub1art8cs66ffvnqns5zs5qa9fwlctmusj5lj38j94lv0ulw0j54wjqhpm0w5 about 6 months ago.
Work got in the way, but now I’m diving back in and reading it nonstop during my short vacation.
I found it thoroughly fascinating. I am sure you will too.
Self custody is the only way. You can buy a nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll server and set up your own Node. This is really a must as you journey down the rabbit hole. Use Sparrow Wallet to manage your BTC. You can then take a further step and run a Bitcoin Lightning Node for payments. Use nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 wallet to manage your channels. Get your BTC off Coinbase. Plenty of help here if you need it.
