It has its limitations, but Puppy Linux brings back from the dead my 13-year-old Acer Aspire One netbook computer -- which originally ran slowly with Windows 7.
Now it's even a little puppy -- I mean peppy.

For breakfast I had probably 8 slices of thick-cut bacon, 3 eggs fried in bacon grease, 2 slices of cheese, and a bowl of berries.
Considering my berries, I guess I was vegan for a couple minutes today.
But tonight my wife is making me chicken wings pan-fried in lard. After that, however, I won't eat another animal product until tomorrow's homemade chili. Which does have some tomato and onion in it. So I'm almost there.
I believe in the one, holy, catholic, apostolic, and non-synodal Church.
That's true. And part of that fake "listening" involves strategically choosing in advance who to listen to, who gets to "vote."
Overall, the manipulation is gross. Makes a mockery of the Magesterium.
Eric Sammons’ definition of synodality:
“the effort to transform Catholicism into a religion in which vice and virtue are equal and are voted upon by its members"
You betcha. Looks a lot like regular corn in the field. We let it dry for awhile and then collected it in jars for nights like this.
Best homemade snack:
* Popcorn grown in my own backyard (no chemicals)
* Stove popped in bacon grease
* Topped with real butter
* Pink salt
* Freshly ground peppercorn
* Several squirts Frank's Hot Sauce
* Splash of lime juice

Any practicing LGBTQ Catholic is just as Catholic as any other Catholic.
Like any other Catholic involved in mortal sin, they can repent and go to Confession to avoid the fires of hell and reach the glories of heaven.
A person whose body is objectified and exploited by countless selfish men do not have to "feel" exploited to be exploited. It's simply a fact, regardless of whether the person volunteers to be exploited.
Porn users and addicts may not realize in the moment how harmful porn consumption is to themselves, but that doesn't mean it isn't harmful. All they know is that it feels good right now. And they can even say (in a way) that they are not "forced" to consume porn; they volunteer to do something that damages them. (In reality they are ensnared.)
Likewise, the porn stars who are sexually exploited may not realize for a time how exploited, objectified, and used they are. They know they get paid well, but they don't always understand how their sexuality (a core part of the human person) is being cheapened and their soul damaged. I believe they realize it at some level, but they justify it because of the money.
Morality is not determined by financial prosperity (wealth can be very deceitful). And morality is key to living a free life. Addicts and prostitutes are not free; they are enslaved. We should discourage the enslavement of their souls.
It is exploitation regardless of whether victims are paid. Choosing to be abused does not make it cease to be abuse.
I'm sure porn stars are paid much more than me, but who actually believes that's key to a "better life"? That's whack, bro.
nostr:nprofile1qqsfp7mtjcrmhfqxsml8p2khfgr7ttuk69f80re6p87d5kt8mjcd4wspzamhxue69uhkummnw3ezummwwdshguewdaexwtcprfmhxue69uhhyetvv9uk2u3wve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0pc4jj3 is exactly the kind of content creator we need on nostr, but they haven't posted here since June. Zap them to get them to come back!
More Bitcoin content? That's what keeps people I know away from nostr.
I haven't figured out why yet, but there are some people on social media who could post how to solve world hunger or achieve peace in the Middle East, and no one would seem to notice or care.
But others are so beloved by their platforms, they can simply post a picture of their breakfast, or even just write, "I farted" -- and they get a thousand likes, boosts, and zaps.
I still haven't tried genuine, homemade bone broth. I want to.
I suppose you could try rabbit bone broth. (If I tried that, I wouldn't be able to resist saying: "Waiter! There's a hare in my soup!")
When I do extended fasts, I find I'm much stronger and better off if I consume plenty of salt (sodium and potassium) throughout the day(s) with my water. I still feel plenty empty, but not weak.
At my workplace, there are days (not often) when I fluidly identify as a transwoman.
The reason is that sometimes the single-stall men's room is busy. And if I really, really have to go, I become a transwoman for a few minutes so I can do my business in the next room over.
Once I come out, I'm a man again.
No one has seen me come out the women's restroom yet, but when it happens, I dare anyone to complain about it in this environment of diversity and equity.
Society is out of its mind, and I won't participate. Unless I really, really have to drop the kids off at the pool.
But wait -- isn't this supposed to be "The Year of the Linux Desktop"? haha
Yes, I hear you.
I was interested in nostr before, but walked away because of its seemingly inextricable ties with crypto. I like crypto, but generally am not a fan of BTC due to privacy issues (I'm more of a Monero guy). As I learned about the browser extensions like Alby, I thought our crypto and online IDs were to be united in such a way that it could only result in bad things -- a "permanent record" that could affect our finances.
Now I know nostr is not built on crypto blockchains and that it's not necessary to involve one's crypto wallet with their nostr account. But I didn't really understand that until I watched many videos -- more than the average human is willing to watch about something that initially sounds strange.
Syncthing for secure private file syncing directly between your devices

Whether you want to automatically sync your photos or audio recordings from your phone directly to your desktop PC, or to sync your notes between all your devices, free and open source Syncthing will help you do this securely, privately, and reliably. I'll show how I'm doing this, and how I'm also keeping older versions of changes my notes so that I can restore them if needed (a bit like a basic backup).
Unlike many backup or sync applications, Syncthing will sync any number of folders directly between your devices, so no server is required. This can be done without even knowing the IP addresses of the devices. It can also sync over the Internet to a friend, if you want to share backup space with each other - you can set your own encryption password for each folder to keep your data private.

You are very good at what you do. Thank you.
🇵🇸 I’m Gaza, babies are being killed by Israel. https://video.nostr.build/2b5d2fc1bbda5e8c5187ea87df04dc2f7753dca72d3166c6100c4e88127ff542.mov
It's horrible. Aren't you equally or more horrified at the coordinated terrorist attacks against Israel on Saturday?

This kid says nostr won't really be in use 5 to 10 years from now.
I can't say I agree, but it's still depressing to hear negative nancies like this.
