The thing about corrupt totalitarians is they have a tendency to eat their own. Don’t despair - nothing is certain but it’s also the case that meaningful political is not impossible when good people decide they’ve had enough.
Nostr can play a huge role in this upcoming election if the movers here decided to organize. Kennedy is the only candidate who explicitly supports BTC - he accepts it for campaign contributions!
What the f is everyone waiting for?
A unique debate event utilizing blockchain tech to restore US democracy! https://freeandequal.org/
I believe Nostr could play a major role in restoring US Democracy if we get organized. All other social media platforms are compromised and will be used to quash 3rd party or Independent candidates. We can use Nostr as a reliable place to maintain a network, strategize and coordinate action on other sites. If you’re ready to make it happen convene here: npub12vpqxleuesz053fdxr40ey7vhecrkxlh4m0u5ft8gvke2wlyl82sej00nk
RFK Jr. is the first candidate to accept contributions in BTC, right? Do you support his candidacy?
Some weeks ago I was reading Thoreau's "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience" aloud at bed-time to my son, who of course does not understand it but appreciates the sound of the words all the same, when I discovered that its famous title was in fact not the original! The original title was significantly more radical: "Resistance to Civil Government."
It's quite short, and I would encourage everyone here to read (or re-read) it. It is still tremendously relevant. Re-reading it with the original (un-sanitized) title in mind, it lands even harder.
These days, Thoreau would probably get his door kicked in.

I’m a volunteer for the RFK Jr. campaign and it seems my Twitter account has been hobbled. My tweets do not show up in the tweet panel - only in replies…

Because pride is a sin. It’s a setup.
Depends a lot on other factors such as location, occupation, social network etc. Changes can be made but for many those changes involve significant risk.
Would you agree that dishonest, stupid and callous leadership is a sure pathway towards destruction? A political figure is never a sole person - they are a representation of a social movement (if not they would have no political capital). What we are seeing is the rising of a sane political movement. Let’s not squander it.
What you say is a good general rule - but for every rule there are exceptions. Even if he fails I’d rather put my faith in an honest intelligent caring person than any of the cardboard swamp creatures who routinely screw us all. It’s a no brainer.
Only the strongest will escape the web - but what they escape into may not be hospitable to human life.
Most scientists won’t do it - so we have yet another word that’s been forever ruined by human behavior. “Science” can now join “Democracy” on the trash heap of vocabulary.
