The first book had stuff in it I felt a little uncomfortable reading to them. Hagrids drinking for instance and all the “kill him” from Voldemort in front of the mirror of erised… but you gotta learn about death at some point and they’re already aware of it because of great grandparents passing away in the last year/few years. I read a chapter a night at the moment, but could space it out a bit more as we get deeper into the series. Or we could take a break and switch to another series when it starts to get really dark.

You know that thing where a cook will tell you to let your pans get hot before cooking or the food will stick to it? I recently decided to actually pay attention to that and holy shit it works.

(Yes I know it’s a non stick pan but if I put the eggs in cold they leave an awful mess that I have to soak and scrape to get clean.) https://v.nostr.build/STBYe7ULvDmLaAW7.mp4

Finished reading book one of Harry Potter to my kids tonight :) They’re already looking forward to book two. That surprised me. I bet they’re going to be surprised to meet Dobby, since I named our chihuahua after him. I wonder if they’ll think of him as a girl, since our Dobby is a girl 🤭

I was going to make ramen but halfway through I decided to make egg drop soup. 😂 https://v.nostr.build/F6EJwilXPsr8DYvP.mp4

My mom does them because she has some bad pet allergies. She swears by it. I use to get sinus migraines all the time and tried it a few times, it definitely got rid of the pain. I think a moment of discomfort would be worth it to know if it could solve your problem.

Haha I had cornrows one time for a yo-yo contest. They’re painful 😆😂

Been watching Christopher Hitchens interviews off and on this past week. I’ve seen him talk with people like Richard Dawkins on panels but nothing on his own. I hope to one day be as eloquent as he was. I love his depth of knowledge and ability to articulate his thoughts quickly and accurately.

Young Dexter Holland (the offspring) looks like David Paetkau (played Callisto Raynes in Eureka). I was really hoping it was the same person 😂 oh well.
