**NostrPlebs.com Support Tickets**

Over the past month, Nostr Plebs has fielded well *over one hundred support requests* from either my Twitter DMs, Nostr DMs, or our live support chat on our website. The majority of tickets that we have gotten can fall into 4 categories.

1. The user lost their password and needs it reset.

2. The user is having problems with their ID showing in our directory.

3. The user changed their public key.

4. TYPOS! (Public keys, IDs registered, NIP-05 IDs enter into clients, etc.)

If I had to add a 5th item to the list, I would file it under general usage of nostr itself. So, keep making guides, folks. These are your more tech savvy users that are here now. When the masses come, they'll need your guides the most.

**NostrPlebs.com Supports Nostr Development**

Building a decentralized communication protocol has a cost, there's not only an incredible amount of development time, but a rising infrastructure cost too. We must support this community that we're so excited to participate in and that has been so supportive of our efforts over the last few weeks.

Starting today, January 6, 2023 at 7:00PM UTC and ending on January 7, 2023 at 7:00PM UTC, 50% of all NIP-05 registration fees collected during this 24 hour period will go towards the greater Nostr development community.

Tomorrow after this period ends, we will tally all of the sats that have been collected via registration fees, make the announcement here, and send them on their way.

Additionally, Nostr Plebs is also announcing the addition of two new domain names to our NIP-05 ID and services offerings. This brings our total domain offerings to five, giving our users a variety of choices when deciding upon their nostr identity.

We are planning on doing just this, relay access for members with different tiers of service. Examples of these are not limited to, but may include, relay write access and relay data allotment. i.e. a nostrpurple.com member may get a higher amount of free events per month than a nostrplebs.com users.

If you have your own website, you can set up NIP-05 for free with your own domain.

In your files, you should have a folder called:

Create a file and name it:

`nostr.json`

In the file, type:

If you’re using Damus, you will have to convert your public key to hex on damus.io/key

Then go to a file called:

`.htaccess`

and put this at the top:

`Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"`

`Header set Access-Control-Allow-Headers "*"`

`Header set Access-Control-Allow-Methods "GET"`

Now head over to a client that allows you to edit your profile (ex. astral.ninja) and in the section that says NIP-05 Indentifier, type your_username@your_domain.extension (ex. itsmircea@nostrplebs.com).

Thanks it! Now you are NIP-05 verified and will have a nice checkmark next to your name.

On a unrelated note, who broke buying NIP-05 IDs on NostrPlebs.com while I was gone?

I still miss Twitter’s feed , which shows posts from friends-of-friends and serves as a nice discovery mechanism somehow, but I know nostr clients will get there

They're coming. As clients improve stability, include features, and overall usability, I cannot see how every Bitcoiner wouldn't jump ship. Decentralized money 🤝 decentralized communication. #[0]

I am a former entrepreneur. The spirit within me has never died, though it was put on the back burner over the years. Bitcoin and Nostr rekindled that flame. NostrPlebs.com is the result. Super excited for the next week.

I keep seeing more and more friends from Bitcoin Twitter coming over here. It's great. The FOMO is real too. Some of these folks showing up were very adamant about not wanting to use nostr just a week ago. I guess that means it's time to dig up some of those guides and repost'em.
