If you make a fuck up, how does moving to a new xpub help? There is no backward facing privacy. It’s just a series of breadcrumbs to new addresses. Only way is to coinjoin and that’s fast becoming a dead duck. You can’t erase history.

Bitcoin wasn’t designed to be private or anonymous and we shouldn’t assume otherwise. It’s got so many advantages of other forms of money but this area is a real weakness. Satoshi wrote about this extensively.

Not that easy.

One of my wallets has over 1500 UTXOs, all carefully curated, isolated, consolidated, labelled over the years. You don’t just hit the nuke button and sweep to a new xpub like changing a show on Netflix.

Agreed. Freedom tools extend beyond Bitcoin. There’s a reason why #monero is the money of choice for all DNMs.

You’re confusing privacy with anonymity. Totally different beasts. Bitcoin isn’t anonymous so it’s not perfect money. Great SoV though.

We know many of Satoshi’s addresses, transactions and blocks he mined.

So you’re saying he fucked up real bad?

Umbrel does IBD over tor and it’s free and one line of code on pretty much any piece of junk hardware with enough storage. Why is Start9 such a revelation to people with a $1300 price tag for prism hardware and spec isn’t that good.

I do work for an ordinals project and that’s where my interests are in bitcoin are currently but I’ve been using Sparrow for years and Samourai since day 1 since I have a real need for security and privacy on chain.

Ordinals have their detractors, especially on #nostr but bitcoin is for enemies. That’s what I love about it so much. No one can tell you what bitcoin is or should be. If anyone does or declares “I’ve grokked bitcoin” then they don’t understand the technology.

Same as when areas of London that were immigrant strongholds became “gentrified”, the hipsters moved in and suddenly that same area became fake, expensive and full of wankers.

Coming to a country near you soon.

I was once like you Fred. But now I feel corruption wins more often than not so reversion to the worse possible scenario over decades will be the trajectory. The old power structures won’t go without a fight. They won’t and can’t kill bitcoin so they’ll just target bitcoiners themselves.

Bitcoin doesn’t need mass adoption to win. I’m personally targeting the SoV narrative. Always have since I found bitcoin. I spend in Monero but believe Bitcoin will take gold’s crown. It’s an easy10x from here in terms of MC. We can have less than 1% of the world owning bitcoin and still win as the best SoV / savings device.

In terms of an idyllic future of hyperbitcoinization I personally feel that is off the cards and I’m ok with it.

Eerily accurate. Not just for #bitcoin related years but overall world events.

Not too long now. 4 years max is my guess #bitcoin state attack will happen. In what form I don’t know.

This looks pretty much like the UK town I was born in 40+ years ago. The town’s official motto was Out of Darkness, Cometh Light. I went back there last month for the first time in the decade and it’s actually taken a step back. Bitcoin can’t fix everything.

Shoulder surgery out the way, rehab starting Monday. Time to enjoy some decent weather get out there for a hike.

Always time to #bitcoin later. Health comes first.

Eat like the French

Love like the Italians

Do business like the Swiss

Kimchi and sauerkraut are the two easiest things to make that will help your health. Fun to do with wifey
