Located Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺 First on Nostr Wednesday, August 28, 2024 I don’t respond to personal messages. My website is:

Some of the things young people under 16 in Australia won’t now have access to in Youtube because they cannot create an account… how is this an improvement?

We all know the real agenda.

I listen to Bitcoin interviews and streamed Bitcoin events often. You? 🧡🤔

Ugly, horrible people. I can barely stand to watch them. All their evidence is based on a single report that they themselves generated, using dubious questioning methods and selection of participants, etc.

Watch in full, from mainstream news media, if you can handle it. Plus where's the Australian flag 🇦🇺?

Right, it's time to get barefoot on the grass in sunshine again. 🤬😡🫣

Again... if young people can't have a YouTube account then they will be subjected to every advertisement in every video! How is that an improvement?

There's also talk of lowering voting age to 16, yet they'll be shut off from online social discourse leading up to elections. 😳

Hope they all catch on to Nostr. 🧡

Disgusting 🤢 https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/youtube-will-be-included-in-the-under-16s-social-media-ban/

When YouTube users don't have an account they are subjected to advertisements in every video viewed.

How's that great for young people? 🧡

https://youtu.be/1u9BkrhwXv0 🤥😡🤬

Now, we need to keep an eye on what's going on while they distract the masses with this news. 🤔🤨

I asked ChatGPT...

Philosophical question: What can I know?

Here's the response:

That question—**"What can I know?"**—is one of the most fundamental in philosophy. It's at the heart of **epistemology**, the study of knowledge. Let’s explore it from a few key philosophical angles:

---

### 1. **Descartes and Radical Doubt**

René Descartes began his search for certainty by doubting everything he could:

> "I think, therefore I am" (*Cogito, ergo sum*)

He concluded that the only thing he could not doubt was **his own existence as a thinking being**. Everything else—sensory experiences, external reality, even mathematics—could be called into question.

So from this view, you can know:

* That you are **thinking**

* That **you exist** (at least as a mind)

---

### 2. **Empiricism (Locke, Hume, etc.)**

Empiricists argue that knowledge comes from **sense experience**. You know things because you perceive them through your senses.

But this leads to skepticism about:

* Whether your senses **reliably** reflect reality

* Whether there's anything **beyond your perceptions**

So, empirically, you can know:

* Your **experiences**

* Maybe some regularities in those experiences (e.g., fire is hot)

---

### 3. **Kant’s Synthesis**

Immanuel Kant tried to bridge rationalism and empiricism. He argued:

* We never know things **in themselves** (*noumena*)

* We only know things **as they appear to us** (*phenomena*), structured by our minds

So what can you know?

* The **structure of experience** (space, time, causality)

* Not reality in itself, but how it appears **to human minds**

---

### 4. **Contemporary Epistemology**

Modern philosophers often break down knowledge as:

> **Justified True Belief (JTB)** — though this was challenged by the **Gettier problem**

Now, knowledge is seen as:

* **Belief**

* That is **true**

* And **justified** (in some defensible way)

* Possibly requiring **no luck** or **reliable formation**

So: You can know what’s **justifiably believed and true**—but drawing the line is tricky.

---

### 5. **Pragmatism (James, Dewey, Rorty)**

Knowledge is what **works**—what helps you navigate the world effectively. It doesn't require certainty.

So you know:

* What is **useful** in practice

* What’s **coherent** with the rest of what you believe

---

### Summary: *What Can You Know?*

* **You exist** (as a thinker)

* **You experience** things

* Some beliefs may be **justified and true**

* But many things remain **uncertain**, and **context**, **coherence**, or **pragmatic usefulness** might matter more than absolute certainty.

Agree. The video is more about mistakes people have made, not so much about how many. 🧡✨

Yippee! Watching another nostr:nprofile1qqsg86qcm7lve6jkkr64z4mt8lfe57jsu8vpty6r2qpk37sgtnxevjcpr9mhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5q3gamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7uk2zsf interview 🧡✨👍 Could just as easily have the title be 'Everyone is living in Australia with Jeff Booth' 🤣🫣 https://youtu.be/gzw5baQqNdg

Life Power Tip

Demonstrate compassion towards others. In today’s busy, fast and throw-away society we can be too quick to judge or form opinion about another. Be a little slower to ‘react’ and stop for a moment to think about how you could otherwise ‘respond’ to another person’s words or actions. Do you really need to be so quick with anger or annoyance? Do you really know the perspective from which the other person operates and their recent or past experiences that are the source of their behaviour?

Action

Get in the habit of pausing and breathing deeply and slowly.

Challenge

Do one distasteful job today. One that you have been putting off.

Quote

Giving up doesn’t always mean you are weak. Sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go. -Unknown

Clearing

Clear and clean a bench or table in your home or office.

Question

How are those New Year resolutions of yours, moving along?

Affirmation

I choose to have wishes come true.

-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-

CELEBRATING HIS 82ND BIRTHDAY TODAY, THE YOUNG LAD WHO HAD SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED BECOMING EITHER A JOURNALIST OR A POLITICIAN………

Born on 26th July 1943 in Dartford Kent, Sir Michael Philip Jagger (Mick Jagger) is an English singer and songwriter, the lead singer and one of the founder members of the Rolling Stones.

https://youtu.be/Jwtyn-L-2gQ

Although brought up to follow his father's career path as a teacher, Jagger "was always a singer" as he stated in “According to the Rolling Stones”. "I always sang as a child. I was one of those kids who just liked to sing. Some kids sing in choirs; others like to show off in front of the mirror. I was in the church choir and I also loved listening to singers on the radio – the BBC or Radio Luxembourg – or watching them on TV and in the movies."

In September 1950, Keith Richards and Jagger were classmates at Wentworth Primary School, Dartford. In 1954, Jagger passed the eleven-plus exam and went to Dartford Grammar School. The school now has the Mick Jagger Centre installed within the school's site, named after its most famous alumnus. Jagger and Richards lost contact with each other when they went to different schools, but after a chance encounter on platform 2 at Dartford railway station in July 1960, resumed their friendship. They discovered their shared love of rhythm and blues, which for Jagger had begun with Little Richard.

Jagger left school in 1961 after obtaining seven O-levels and three A-levels. Jagger and Richards moved into a flat in Edith Grove in Chelsea, London with a guitarist they had encountered named Brian Jones. While Richards and Jones planned to start their own rhythm and blues group, Jagger continued to study business on a government grant as an undergraduate student at the London School of Economics. He had seriously considered becoming either a journalist or a politician, comparing the latter to a pop star.

Jagger's career has spanned over 55 years, and he has been described as "one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock & roll". Jagger's distinctive voice and performance, along with Keith Richards' guitar style, have been the trademark of the Rolling Stones throughout the career of the band. Jagger gained press notoriety for his admitted drug use and romantic involvements, and was often portrayed as a countercultural figure.

In the late 1960s, Jagger began acting in films (starting with “Performance” and “Ned Kelly”), to mixed reception. In 1985, he released his first solo album, “She's the Boss”. In early 2009, Jagger joined the electric supergroup SuperHeavy. In 1989 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 into the UK Music Hall of Fame with the Rolling Stones.

Jagger was honoured with a knighthood for services to popular music in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2002 and on 12th December 2003 he received the accolade from Prince Charles, the then Prince of Wales. Mick Jagger's knighthood received mixed reactions. Some fans were disappointed when he accepted the honour as it seemed to contradict his anti-establishment stance.

Loved the Scorsese documentary Shine A Light. 🧡

Some pelicans flying over the house today (videos), plus enjoy a few 'cloud watching' pics from yesterday.

Had amazing rainfall and winds last night. Today was sunny all day, the sky and plants all looked so clean and sparkly. 🧡✨ It was very cold though. 🥶

Just watched Don't Tell (2017) https://m.imdb.com/title/tt5495040/

A well told story. Usually I am not much impressed by Australian movies (there are exceptions of course), yet this is definitely one of the better ones. The direction was excellent and it was well cast too. 🧡✨
