Thanks for the info. Much respect 🤝🏻
Well played lol
I can get on board if you mean post-WWII…
There was a time where the ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, we just have to go back 80+ years. Remember Pearl Harbor, the attack that not only officially got the US involved in WWII, but it gave every soldier purpose to defend their fallen comrades, as well as actually protect their country.
I’m not great with social media engagement but lately I’ve been experimenting with reposting charts and financial stats on traditional social media about how the money is the root of all evil, but trying to frame it as simply as possible without sounding like tinfoil hat guy. I don’t have a large following, mostly friends and family, but looking to have a conversation, or to educate (I take pride in my ability to teach subjects that I’m well-versed in).
Unsurprisingly I’ve had effectively zero engagement. A buddy of mine (who’s fairly progressive) will ask one question to get me to prove what I’m saying, I do, he says fair enough, and that’s it.
Yet you see countless peoples’ stories all about the political issues they care about, which shows the amount of energy they are willing to put into the political theater of what we’re living through, but nobody wants to either have a conversation or ask questions.
We have never been so connected with social media but we’ve also never been so separated.
What makes it so difficult for people to change their mind about something?
I get it — ego, pride, etc.— but why is it a default setting? Why is asking questions in an attempt to seek objective truth so taboo?
I guess we can blame the education system, but man, it’s crazy to see such a large cohort of people who think they are thinking for themselves, yet are unwilling to change their stance on anything.
I question my convictions probably too much, but in an effort to maintain truth. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary to continue to live in reality.
Thanks for the weekly reminder that shit’s going to get crazy soon. Much respect for you and all you do for the world 🍻
I often think about my Bitcoin journey and it’s no different than everyone else’s, but I still awe over how educational the Bitcoin rabbit hole is. Absolutely life-altering, worldview-changing, humble-sauce-eating discovery.
And yet the frustrations with how the masses are so uninterested in wanting to understand the problems of the world and seek solutions is maddening.
Bitcoiners are participating in a New Renaissance while the majority are still in the Dark Ages. Not meant to be a superiority flex, just a crazy and polarizing world we’re in.
Your weekend listen brought to you by the brilliant and down-to-earth nostr:nprofile1qqsg2zqd8wkhpnxu6lm5c2dyfa2mhpwte57apjae2ldp6g2mmwf3ypqp2amhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0dec82c33wv6hjufkwaskgamj0pjx2drvdpn8xdfkvahrvdrgwaa826rwvesnvu3ed44rgdekwg6hxdrgdd6ku7n80fchyuekwymh5qgcwaehxw309ac8yetdd96k6tnswf5k6ctv9ehx2aqkrrqzl and nostr:npub1d3f4m9dgvkdjxn26pqzsxn6lpfn78sxwllxyt8mp76q0a9zyyjlswhr4xv 🧡 https://youtu.be/Xv9TnieldbM?si=VtQUfbNjEzOhT65X
I hadn’t thought of STRC being similar to a stablecoin but it’s a very interesting way to frame it. I appreciate Preston’s thoughtfulness. Larry always a solid listen as well. Great one, Nat!
I feel this.
I made the leap of faith while in college to pursue engineering which would have forced me to realize that 1) yes, I am as smart as I think I am, or, worse 2) that I’m not. The fear of facing my own intellectual fallibility was due to years of being raised as a perfectionist, by a perfectionist. “Do it right or don’t do it at all.”
I never tried so hard in my life. I never questioned my intelligence more, which is terrifying for those who fear failure.
I graduated with honors.
That journey changed me. It laid the foundation to allow me to intellectually approach Bitcoin. It’s crazy how only a few decisions can not only alter your personal journey, but potentially your family tree.
Proof of work. 🍻
I will follow back any young fathers on nostr. Regardless of ideological or political differences.
We have to have each others backs gentlemen.

New father here to a 3 month old. It is our obligation to raise strong, confident, resilient, and respectful children. “Hard times creates strong men.” Much respect, HODL. Keep speaking your truth.
I like how you explain things, but can you make a video explaining some of the recent takes of potential actions but also what those outcomes could look like? IE the fed addressing the SLR, basis trade, or lowering interest rates: at this point, is it possible to return to the highs anytime soon (to EOY)? Or are we at a point where the damage has been done, and the world is fleeing the USD and US markets to safe haven assets until further notice? Current events seem to suggest that we’re in a new chapter and one dovish announcement probably won’t be enough to right the ship. Hopefully I’m wrong.
It’s always refreshing to get a simple recap of the past week. Great job. Keep doing what you’re doing!
I have no real objections to what Pomp has to say but he emphasizes a lot on the tech-heavy manufacturing side of things, when the US has plenty of other manufacturing that could benefit from these tariffs.
The main issue I see is being able to fill the low level manufacturing jobs in the wake of demand spikes. I’m an engineer/manager in the plastic industry (US) and since covid, it’s been impossible to fill low level positions because domestic manufactures already cant compete with overseas wages, or match any sort of schedule flexibility from the likes of independent contract work like DoorDash, etc. Americans simply don’t want to work these types of jobs anymore in my experience, and companies have their hands tied.
I’ve been working desperately over the last 4+ years modernizing operations and finding ways to ensure the company’s survival in the wake of labor shortages, but the nature of certain jobs makes it near impossible to automate further without significant CAPEX that doesn’t guarantee success.
Does Pomp imply that you automate or die? Is the writing on the wall that companies have no choice but to eliminate this low level work or risk being replaced by the next generation of manufacturing?
So is this a prevailing narrative over M2 for BTC/risk-on asset price action?
I discovered Bitcoin in 2017 but didn't go down the rabbit hole until 2020. Been learning ever since. I'm an engineering manager in the manufacturing world. Does the bitcoin community have any opinions on whether the manufacturing world should get involved in mining? If so, how?
I've been trying to work this through in my head, but with all the added infrastructure/capital costs, it has me leaning towards no, but I'd like to hear others' input on the matter.
New here to Nostr. Not much of a social media user, but I'd like to get more engaged with the Bitcoin/Nostr community. So hi!
