If they don't know this, they are never going to be free. Our goal is to educate people so that they can take control over their data. Otherwise, they can just stay on Twitter because it's going to be the same thing.

Make sure people can write into your "inbox" relays, people. For both, private and public inboxes.

If you add relays that require payment from other people to send messages to you, you are going to miss a lot of DMs, zaps and likes.

The irony of nostr is that it lack the same addictive qualities of inferior centralized social media services. It really is a better user experience in terms of content and quality by way of curating one’s feed. But the lack of the ‘surprise’ of brain-cycle content makes the drugs of social media less potent.

Idk what happened but amethyst with turned on orbof started loading media and notes more faster on the 0.87.2

I suspect there are two possible forms of breakout growth for nostr:

1) some totally new experience that can’t be done with existing platforms (e.g. zaps).

2) appreciation of the neutrality causes some other at/sub-scale networks to opt for nostr as a way to avoid dealing with content moderation/“free-speech” goals directly

I think censorship resistance and interoperability are correct, but too theoretical for most users to care about directly.

a 40yr lease is easy to conceptualize because “wHaT’s anOtHeR 10 yEaRs?”

But a multi-generational mortgages is difficult for me to conceptualize because of how evil that is. Imagine your pre-teen being coerced into co-signing mortgage under the parents saying “if you don’t sign this then we have no where to live.” Then when the whole family saddled with an unbearable amount of debt, people will say, “well if pre-teens have the ability to choose their gender then they have the ability to understand what they signed - that burden is on them.”
