Nice! The news blocks are a great addition to your regular interviews. Thanks Natalie!
Congrats Lyn! This book is incredible. You're an amazing analyst and great storyteller, which really brings this book to life.
A very elegant way to shift the tone of the scene. Incredible.
The Denver Bitcoin community is growing and it's really fun to be a part of this community. Denver Bit Devs is facilitating some great conversations and educational content.
Just listened to Awolnation's Jump On My Shoulders for the first time in a few years...is this Bitcoin's anthem?

Seeing the world through the Bitcoin lens is like watching the fog roll out of SF Bay...holy shit, that's what the world looks like. You can't unsee it, and the world becomes more clear and hopeful.

What's going on here between Odell and Swan?

nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx, I really appreciate the work that you're doing with Bitcoin Park and the opportunities you're providing to Bitcoin-only companies through Ten31.
When you think about KYC and non-KYC onboarding, how do you balance the tradeoffs with privacy vs compliance to ensure people are getting access to the best products?
It seems like KYC onboarding has the potential to bring people into the space at a greater velocity, but then there's the sacrifice of privacy. Do you see harmony between the two in an effort to push for greater adoption?
Thanks!
By participating in the Bitcoin network (saving, making payments, educating, building), we are all making the world a better place. There are few systems that have such far reaching impacts which can be achieved through such simple actions. In saving a sat or sending a sat, the opportunities for more global prosperity are driven forward.
OpenSats is 100% pass through, we do not take a cut of donations, period. This is incredibly rare in the non profit world. Our nine person board has not and will not be paid a single sat.
Gigi is paid to run the org full time. The money for that was paid by a single donation for that specific stated purpose. He has rebuilt our processes from the ground up and made everything much more efficient.
All funds are provided to open source projects that apply and are approved by board vote. The board is intentionally nine people to reduce the impact of individual bias. We operate on simple majority. If there is a conflict of interest between a board member and a project they are expected to recuse themselves.
We will be releasing transparency reports and updates as funds are allocated. Understandable that some are frustrated with the speed of deployment but we are moving as fast as responsibly possible. Over the last two months we have announced nearly thirty grants. More will be announced soon.
Are you an open source contributor? Apply Here: https://opensats.org/apply
This is absolute incredible. Thank you all for contributing so much to the growth of the network.
Saving $10 a month in Bitcoin for your child's 'college fund' would result in a very reasonable fund over 15-20 years. But let's be honest, college won't look like it does today in 20 years, so we'll just call it an educational fund.
Haha, perhaps some moon shots as you suggest. No telling what will come, but most certainly some positive things.
There's a grocer who works at my local market who I've know for about six years at this point. I love talking with him every time I visit, and he's kind enough to let me practice my Spanish during our conversations. We laugh and chat about life, and he always brightens my day.
This man has worked two jobs for the entire time I've known him, and he recently was able to buy a small house. He has made sacrifices with his time that I have been unwilling to make with mine, and I couldn't be more proud or excited for him.
He's accomplished so much in the standard fiat world, and I absolutely cannot wait to see the world where people able to accomplish so much more through Bitcoin.
During our last conversation, I learned he's also an amazing photographer and he loves going into the mountains to capture landscape and animal photos. He would eventually like to be a professional photographer, and I have every hope he achieves this goal.
Every morning, I go for a run and imagine a world powered by Bitcoin. By the time I'm done, I'm so energized that I have a tough time transitioning away.
Today, I'm stringing a new habit to this list. Every morning I'm going to run and think about Bitcoin, and then I'm going to write about Bitcoin.
I'm now prioritizing the most important things at the beginning of the day so I always have time to complete them. No more backburner Bitcoin.
Haha😆. Lazer eyes no lazer required.
