Is it possible to download all your notes and events associated with your nsec, create a new key pair and then somehow transfer all the events from the old nsec to the new?

Part of what makes zaps so powerful is that, most true Bitcoiners assign an eventual value of ~$1 per sat, so even though you’re only getting fractions of a penny in today’s zap pricing, in reality you’re getting 1,000s of dollars in value post-Bitcoin standard ⚡️

Yet another way that nostr is superior to all social media is the incentive to collect quality fallows, vs. falling back on zero-effort, dopamine-triggering algo feeds.

There are several reasons that the Berkshire Hathaway founders hate bitcoin, but a major reason is their ownership of coal power plants and monopoly pricing in regulated energy markets around the United States.

These energy companies and utilities that all roll up to BH are replacing their coal with renewables not because it’s better for the environment, and not because it’s cheaper, but because they get a guaranteed rate of return on their investments to produce power.

Regulators under the guise of consumer protection attempt to cap the margin utilities can charge their constituents. However that simply incentivizes the power producers to produce the highest cost power possible. If you can earn a maximum of a 20% margin, you’d much rather spend $1billion and make $200 million that spend $500million and make $100million to produce the same amount of energy.

Bitcoin brings incentives to produce power cheaper, which of course would benefit all industry, but significantly reduces Berkshire’s ability to grow. Bitcoin would keep the coal plants going, making these companies stagnant in how much cash they can generate. They have to find more expensive ways to produce energy or they cap their growth.

So yeah, Munger can go fuck himself.

People only have to turn on a few write relays and a few read relays, set and forget. Finding other people's outboxes and connecting to them is the software's problem... those won't be in your relay list, but they will be used.

I think the inverse is better: Post to just 1 place, your "outbox". Read from the "outboxes" of the people you follow. See NIP-65. You'll end up reading events only once (or twice or three times, at your chosen level of redundancy) instead of many times from many relays.

The only thing that concept doesn't cover is when you want to address a particular person, in which case you need to post to their "inbox". That includes replies, which always address people.

Since I wrote the NIP I've started calling "write relays" your "outbox" and "read relays" your "inbox" and also noticed a striking similarity to ActivityPub.

Just tested on latest amethyst and I don’t see Lightning address icon on anyone’s profiles. Not sure if it was there before.
