There are various thoughts on why humans experience it. Many times, I can be overly blunt. My spirit comes from a place of love for humanity. Always. If not, I'll make it obvious 😂
What I'd suggest is to ask yourself why it scares you. That matters most, making life work 🙂
That said: some reasons or beliefs I've learned:
* timeline jumping
* a mark on this human path to instill (or jolt) in one to remember (either the event, feeling, experience) this may never become clear but IME almost always has even if it's taken years
* our brain has predicted ahead what will logically happen & subconsciously we know but consciencely it hasn't registered yet
