Got self hosted zapple pay and Lightning addresses up and running. GIVE ME SOMETHING TO ZAP ⚡️

Ok, figured it out. For some reason I needed NOT to set my nostr pubkey in the NWC config. Now that I’m not setting my pubkey I can zap away!

HALP! I’m self-hosting nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm nostr wallet connect (v0.2.0) in docker. It appears to connect successfully to my LND node but when I pass the pairing key to Zapple Pay and start 🤙‘ing some notes, no zaps happen. No events logged in my NWC container and my LND logs don’t show any attempted payments either.

Anyone know where I can look to start debugging? It’s gotta be a networking or permissions issue somewhere but I’m getting nothing from the logs…

Great minds, fren. Now that you mention it, holy shit NMS was such a beautiful game. Sure they fucked the launch and the hate was intense. But I’ll never forget that first feeling of freedom in the game, looking up at any moon or planet in the sky and being able to get in your ship and fly there.

Low key the best tip in here is to not salt and pepper the eggs until the end. Can’t explain why but they hit different when you wait until you serve to add the seasoning.

Makes sense. Once you have enough funding and know-how for it to be worth it to build your own Lightning node (even with a simple out of the box solution like nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct), nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 is by far my favorite mobile wallet to interface with it.

The rightmost button on the bottom nav bar brings up the channels screen. From there you can click the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner to open a channel. You can find good peers to open a channel to with nostr:npub17tlh448s3tfdfgymehqdkdn52as59qsrax0n9h58pk54wcmqyc2qklzsxj

228K sats makes for a pretty small channel though, and if your peer isn’t well connected you might get payment failures. For small amounts, custodial wallets are usually less of a headache.

Yeah, my belief is somewhere in between “God of the gaps” and intelligent design (not in the creationist sense but in terms of the laws of physics).
