No joke I used to work in the building on the right that’s under scaffolding now. Lol.

Nostruh is the new nuceular

You’re a better person than I. I know intuitively that these things eat pests but I still can’t get past the ick factor. I’ve gotten past my urge to kill them but I still get as far away from them as possible.

It sure is a pretty little terror, though…

Ah yeah, here: https://www.cgdirector.com/single-core-performance-cpu-list/

Intel’s latest chips top the list as of end of last year. If you click through to the article about multi thread performance you’ll see AMD dominates there

Pretty sure the opposite is true unless the chips’ capabilities have inverted in the last year or so on the latest Intel architecture?

Depends on application. Twitch gaming requires better single threaded performance; Intel wins there. Video encoding/transcoding requires better hardware acceleration support… again Intel. But anything that relies in multi threaded performance… I.e. regular real-world computing, modeling, simulations… AMD wins. Also worth noting AMD wins on power efficiency and performance per dollar.

In general I tend to opt for AMD for my use cases.

Eh, sort of in that it’s worthless now and it’s funny how much money I threw at it. This was my first NFT. As it says in my bio, I was a bitcoiner first and then I spent 4 months as an NFT degen and I’m still recovering. I learned that most of the space is trash but some communities are cool. Crypto Duckies is one of them. Good people. It’s also a neat way for artists to connect with their patrons directly… again, subject to being drowned out by all the hot trash in the space.
