Artist/Musician

πŸ€” not the other way around? To first establish what it is we may (or may not) have in common?

"Senescence is an inevitability. All we can do is try to strike the balance between graceful acceptance and raging against the dying light."

"Gratitude, mindfulness, exercise, and sleep are non-negotiables for sustained peak performance." --Steven Kotler (The Art of Impossible)

Stay up, people.

nostr is promiscuous

"My life has been my music, it’s always come first, but the music ain’t worth nothing if you can’t lay it on the public."

--Louis Armstrong (1901-1971)

An artist has a responsibility to promote their art. But I'll be damned if I ever parrot the pathetic, endemic motif of pleading for follows, likes, or subscribers, only to have these biased platforms push my announcements to only those whose consumption habits help drive up their advertising fees.

I refuse to be a talking head for these media companies and grovel for viewership. I'm not going to prop up my work with gimmicks and advertising, no matter how widely considered they are to be "best practices". It may take me longer to find my audience, but I'll know that when I do, it'll be the right one.

If my work won't stand on its own, I'll take it to signify that there's more work to be done--with the craft, not the marketing.
