I was always excited in school if the teacher would use my essay as the example 😅 so I’m having a flashback! 💕

lol I don’t even know what to think 😂 but I have been Orange Pilling for many years and I’ll keep Orange Pilling until it’s no longer needed ✊

I feel you and I’ll find a way to say this to her. But please understand she is in no way here to influence you guys 😂 Mimi and all girlfriends I onboard are here to learn from you guys 🙌 and get a taste of freedom 😍

Maybe she didn’t tell you about her because she is not here to talk about herself, she really came because she liked the concept of #Nostr and when I told her it’s a mini hang out place filled with some of the smarted people she wanted to learn more and asked me how she can join. She probably asked about you guys because she cares more about learning who you are and what you guys do vs talking about herself.

And yeah all of you guys here are quite influential IMO.

But 1 word won’t scare her or the other girls away, don’t worry 💋

In the end, everyone is an influencer, whether they want to be or not. The difference is often just the reach. Parents influence their children. You influence your friends. Social media accounts influence their followers. As nostr:npub14yf4yasnqgpkzjrzhysshglf82e8nkp8r9sn5hzqu4n244k3avtshhwpyu explained so well, some influencers do it unintentionally.

Whether intentional or not, paid or unpaid... what's important is that you don't compromise your own values and principles in the process.

I agree that it's more important to take action than to exert influence. However, that's a broad generalization that overlooks some scenarios.

For example, the issue of a broken money has already been solved. People just need to recognize it. For that to happen, there need to be individuals who understand it and can explain it to others. Influencers, in my opinion, can be beneficial in this regard for everyone.

This can be applied to many subject areas.

Nevertheless, I understand your point that one should do more and exert less influence, and I also agree with that in general.

100% 🙌

Addiction is clearly possible without algorithms, but this one feels nice because it’s things you want to read about - Like reading a good book is addictive.

Twitter became addictive in the same way candy is addictive. It’s not healthy, but you keep grabbing more.

Hey 👋 I’m down for a fair and balanced discussion about influencers, without any hate or love.

🙋‍♂️❓Mike Q:

What is an influencer? What are they trying to influence and why?

👸Duchess A:

- What is an influencer?

I would consider anyone who has some level of influence over any group of people an influencer.

* If you are able to influence anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand people, then you are able to influence a SMALL VILLAGE.

* If you are able to influence anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands of people, then you are able to influence a SMALL TOWN.

* If you are able to influence anywhere from tens of thousands to a few hundred thousand people, then you are able to influence a SMALL CITY.

An influencer “by definition” is an individual who has established credibility, authority, or a large following in a specific niche or industry, often through social media platforms or online channels. They use their influence to promote products, services, CAUSES, or IDEAS to their audience, with the aim of affecting their purchasing decisions, opinions, or BEHAVIOR. Influencers can be found in various fields, such as fashion, beauty, technology, fitness, and more, and they leverage their online presence to engage with and impact their followers.

- What are they trying to influence and why?

Not all “influencers” are trying to influence people, they are just considered an influencer because people just want to live or think like someone they look up to.

Other “influencers” might just be trying to influence political views, maybe trying to influence fashion trends, too many options to list and I’m not in their heads so I don’t know exactly why. I would assume some do it because they are paid to and all they want is the money, others do it unintentionally, and others do it for their own benefit.

For example, a beekeeper like nostr:npub16eumpaxffppswucpeysysrya9uk39j06d5gr2tsnf6cupq3f4jdqyft6jc might just want to influence people to care about bees because bees add economic value and keep the world going round.

A beekeeper can be influential to the community by educating and raising awareness about the importance of bees. Beekeepers can:

1. Organize workshops and talks

2. Create community gardens

3. Sell local honey to help with allergies.

4. Offer beekeeping classes

5. Participate in conservation initiatives

6. Advocate for bee-friendly policies

7. Post the life of their bees on social media with bee-related facts, and ways individuals can contribute to bee conservation efforts.

By taking these steps, a beekeeper can influence the community to better understand and appreciate the crucial role that bees play in our ecosystem and inspire them to take action to protect these vital pollinators.

I can say I do everything in my power to “influence” those around me to NOT buy shit-coins and to put their savings into #Bitcoin. I do this for a few reasons.

1. I’m selfish and I want everyone to just start living and thinking in Bitcoin because my mind is already there (I don’t see a coffee as €5, I see it as 19,589 丰 or 0.00019586 ฿), so the sooner bitcoin becomes our global reserve currency the sooner it will make life easier.

2. I want those around me to have their own money in the future so we can all be in the same boat.

3. I don’t need to keep listing because I think you get the idea 😎

So I have an agenda there and the bee keeper has an agenda, but maybe someone that is just living their life and posting about it has no agenda (could be just encourage others to life life, smile and have fun) however that person became an “influencer” because many people want to live the same life so they might follow what this “influencer” eats, maybe take the same carrier paths, whatever it may be - the point is they are an “influencer” without an agenda.

🙋‍♂️❓Mike Q:

If they are an independent representative of a clothes or fashion brand and they are using their personality to promote one brand over another in order to make a living. That’s fine, providing it is transparent and an honest relationship on both sides (the brand and the customers).

👸Duchess A:

I have some friends where a brand will send them clothing and if my friend likes it she will wear it. It’s up to her to take the brand or not, because her online presence is so big brands know that even if she does not tag their brand, her fans will do all of the research they can and they will all tell each other what the brand is.

An example brand could be Alo Yoga

I also have some friends that get paid by some brands to wear their cloths (many girls pick brands they have aligned interests with. For example the brand is “sustainable”). Ines those cases the girl will always tag the brand and mention that it is an add so her followers know she was paid to post this and if her followers like how it looks, they can buy it for themselves.

An example brand could be PrettyLittleThing

And I have friends that have modeled for a brand and the brand fell in love with them and now sends them gifts (from their brand), flys them to the opening of a new location and dresses them in their brand for the opening, and can loan the girl piece from their brand for photoshoots or read carpet event. In this case it’s up to the girl to tag or not tag, yet it’s still influencing people because at the end of the day she is posting about it.

An example brand could be BVLGARI

🙋‍♂️❓Mike comment:

If they are filling a hole in their lives by pretending to live a life that is not real in order to cover a life that is unfulfilled, then let’s try to help.

👸Duchess A:

Yeah I’ve seen these girls, but I don’t really know them so I guess it’s harder to help them. However I’m certainly happy to help any that might cross my path. 🫂

🙋‍♂️❓Mike comment:

If you truly live a fulfilled life, you have no need to influence or be influenced. I think that is the goal we all seek.

👸Duchess A:

Hard to avoid. Parents influence you.

What your friends eat around you can influence you.

Oh sorry yeah you did mention they cause cancer 🫣 I just jumped to post because I saw someone chatting on paper straws 😂 and I hate them with a passion too 😅 so just responded and was not connecting dots hehe.

I have metal and glass straws at home. I don’t mind using them (glass feels less strange on the teeth I’ll admit), but I hate cleaning them and having them stand straight on the kitchen counter for some time to dry 🥵

Oh this is cool!

If I was going to these meetups I would 100% rock this!

I love bees too! Tell us everything about your bees 💛🌻🐝

How is your bio going to say a founding Nodestreich founding member and you are hating on a girl who joined? 🧐

Anyways another guy had an original comment like yours “influencer in bio” and I shared my thoughts with him, so I’ll copy paste for you 💋✨👇

To be fair, I would consider anyone who has some level of influence over any group of people an influencer.

- If you are able to influence anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand people, then you are able to influence a SMALL VILLAGE.

- If you are able to influence anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands of people, then you are able to influence a SMALL TOWN.

- If you are able to influence anywhere from tens of thousands to a few hundred thousand people, then you are able to influence a SMALL CITY.

In Mimi's case, she is able to influence over 1 million people on her Instagram page alone. I know Mara in real life, and I can attest that when we go out, she is a POWERHOUSE. People flock to her; girls want to wear the clothes she wears, people want to travel to the places she visits, women listen to everything she says about skincare and beauty products. She might not be a bitcoin influencer YET, but she should certainly be considered influential, and she has the potential to bring her followers here.

- Goal 1 of mine: Use Nostr to show my girlfriends a real use cases of bitcoin (with ⚡️ zaps) with other people, because right now it’s just me going to dinner with the girls, asking them to pay, and then me paying them back in sats. It’s not the same as getting zapped everyday buy strangers. It is a process, but I am trying to help them realize the long-term value of these sat zaps. Teaching them that HODLing these zaps long term, will outweigh the quick returns from some BS IG #ad paid for by some BS company 🥵🤦‍♀️.

- Goal 2 of mine: Get my girlfriend’s off of IG and onto Nostr so we can keep growing

- Goal 3 of mine: When my girlfriend’s feel Nostr is a safe place and they are ready to bring their followers here, they will and we will grow Nostr even more.

If you don't like her telling you what she does (she is literally an influencer that brands want to work with. The cool thing about Mimi is that for a brand to work with her, she won't agree if she herself does not like them or their product.), what would you recommend she puts in her bio about what she does?

I think it would be awesome if Mimi ends up liking it here on Nostr and brings more of her followers here. I know she has the power to influence and bring more people here.

She can help us #growNostr 💜!

Trust me it’s a lot of work to bring non tech girls here right now, especially bringing them from IG 🤯 because they are comfortable there, a brand can pay an influencer anywhere from €1,000 - €15,000… + PER POST (it cost that brand more to run an add in some magazine where as on IG they can see their audiences reactions + statistics on each post so it’s worth it for them to pay an influencer a decent amount of $$$$$). HOWEVER, when my friends can grasp the 1sat/1dollar parity (I think say zaps will help this), I think they will feel it’s more valuable to be on #Nostr earning #sats (#HardMoney) for posting their work or just saying something that made someone laugh, than posting BS on IG where they are earning some BS inflated dollars. But this takes time and it won’t happen as fast as we all want it to happen if you scare girls away.

She can help us #growNostr 💜!

NostrStats v0.0.30 adds #Nostr links!

It’s using njump by nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 as the gateway. From the linked webpage, you can tap on “Open profile in Your native client” to do just that. 🤙

Oh that’s cool! Thanks for picking my texts as a sample ☺️ 😍💋✨🫂

And now I read that paper straws contain more potentially toxic 'forever chemicals' than plastic.

🧐

I like when restaurants use these thin disposable bamboo straws, because they don’t fall apart after 5 min in your drink and I’m guessing they won’t get stuck in turtle 🐢 noses?

They are not as smooth as plastic straws, they feel kind of like a cheaper plastic straw, but it’s not disturbing.
