Not sure the relevance of this, but it's mesmerizing. Mapping shade for overhead topology maps.

Debating if I should rewatch the whole film tonight or reread a little of the book.
“If I had to make a list of the most authentic female characters invented by the great male directors, I don’t know if I would put the woman in Solaris at the top, but certainly I would place her in the first ranks – because of the blind suffering she emanates, because of her serene yet furious refusal to be eliminated.” #ElenaFerrante

Isn't the woman, technically, a projection of the planet? Albeit with the memory of a woman as the source
Wow. The clouds are amazing
Interesting classification scheme for writers.

Would be nice if this was a real start to wrangling the #AI and #LLM and problematic sourcing issues.

It's wild. Just seems so futuristic in a non pulp way. Great find.

#AI is going to make food production free and usher in an era of #postscarcity. I'm sure that will work. It will be fine.

Wow gorgeous picture
Creators are going to have to get savvy about this stuff. Hopefully some kind of protocol will be developed to help trace the use of sources in these models.
I don't even want to try.
Tipping housekeepers while on the road is a huge pain. With people carrying less cash it must be hurting these hard workers. Some hotels have services like Shiny but it's cumbersome.

I can say I have tried to read his stuff. A couple novels all the way through. Not sure I really got much from the text directly. I got more from his commentators and people inspired by him.
Burrough's legend has been covered with too much gold paint.

It's kind of interesting. An anonymous commentary.

I have used it just for proof-reading / logistics checking on small sections of text (~500 words). I tried to quiz it on a full doc a couple times and it crashed. haha
But it's wild, you can ask it questions about characters, setting, etc, which is huge--for instance, to make sure all the requisite exposition I needed was baked into the action and dialogue.
Google Duet has some editing / proof reading capabilities in Documents.
"Google Duet also accepts customized prompts that it applies to existing text. Some common uses for this function include rewriting text specifically, proofreading your text for grammar mistakes, checking for plagiarism, and analyzing style and other factors."

Reading does provide solace & insight. Time is precious— I hope you continue to find what you need for the present moment— the necessary soil, rain, wind, sunlight, shadow— whatever it takes to create. Good luck!
The process & craft of writing is exciting.
I read Shelley mostly in my 20’s— time to revisit.
“Universal pain” reminds me of something James Hillman wrote about in a book called Healing Fiction.
I need to reread Shelley’s “A Defense of Poetry” — it’s been years & years. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/articles/69388/a-defence-of-poetry
I need to reread it too.
I did ask. And what a forthright answer. It's astonishing how many books you reference and of such variety. I'm glad it provides you solace--stories have always done that for me.
I think about Percy Shelley and universalizing personal pain--at least I think it was Shelley who talked about that.
I used to read a lot, lot more, but now I'm fixated on output and what I read is mostly research to fill in gaps. Most of the stuff I post is just grist for writing.
