The downside I have here is a very naive implementation of cashu. It’s pretty much centralized in a half-baked way, but the primary incentive was creating a meaningful UX with Bitcoin asap.
Right now:
TikTok user ➡️ instant nostr account ➡️ deposit from cash app with cashu ➡️ answer questions to generate tokens ➡️ store tokens in a database
In the future:
Build edtech apps ➡️ direct money to a school’s wallet ➡️ remodel classrooms to connect financially

I stopped implementing NWC in my app because I started to think about why I was including it in the first place when the combination of cashu protocol and cash app essentially connects a user to an app in essentially 1 step.
NWC has been a great leap but it’s ultimately a power user feature. It’s just a power user feature that started to bridge past the line to regular users.
The wonderful thing about cashu protocol is that end users don’t even see it. It just works. Same with crrating nostr keypairs: it just works and all a user has to do is enter a user name. You could even just automate the username process too if you were inclined to do that.

I agree, the. UX changes have been huge and so far one of the biggest pains of building a bridge off of Tiktok has been the rendering speed of some things. Tiktok and heavily juiced social media apps genuinely have people operating on a 1-2 second cycle that constantly competes with the scroll/swipe, so having a 3 second load time can make or a break a conversion.
Since we're mentioning differentiated experiences, I'll shamelessly plug this AI-first learning platform that's building on top of protocols like nostr and cashu. The goal is to get people onboarded asap, knowing that I'm competing with Tiktok's pull on attention. Nostr helps achieve this in spades. Apps like https://program-ai.app will then connect to hand-written informed AI tutors like https://robotsbuildingeducation.com, all who manage lightning zaps or cash taps to create scholarships with learning.
I'm currently looking around for getting folks off of Patreon too because even Patreon is a bit too top-down of a relationship with folks as a creator. The creator & viewer relationship needs to return back to a level playing field IMO. I'll take a look at Ditto today. I'm also excited to see the growth of https://badges.page. Gamifying user experiences will be a solid benefit.

The humility on nostr is so refreshing man. Folks just connect because folks mean well and do well.
It’s not like this on any other platform at all. Tons of corporate-style social politics. Latino TikTok and Tech Twitter suffer from this a lot because ironically the centralized platforms have no collective cohesion or goals to work together. It’s all mostly incentivized self-promotional gimmicking.
I feel like I have a pretty good incentive to be on tech twitter because I live in the Bay Area but even then the best VC connection I’ve met were Hispanics from Miami.
God I’ve destroyed my sleep schedule all summer long and it’s hard to get it back on track. I fell asleep for 4 hours tonight and I can’t tell if I can return back to sleep for another 2 or 4.
Either way today is probably my best shot, either I sleep now and get back on track or I push for the next 16 hours and get back on track.
But if I nap at any point I’ll end up back on square one
There is a huge opportunity here that I could capitalize on but I struggle to do so for a number of reasons.
