It's a primal thing, there's something very ancient and wonderful about it that's hard to describe...Watching it sprout, grow its cotyledons, then the true leaves, then the explosive growth and seeding later on...It really is something modern people have missed.

I'll try with a random image stolen from a random fedi user...Can anyone see this post's image over on Nostr?

I wrote my own Go parser for NIP-01 messages (from scratch, not using fiatjaf's library) and then realized that it's wasted effort because the network is full of soy faggots who have delusions of being the new banking class and can't talk or think about anything else.

Hubris caused the developers to focus solely on zaps and on ensuring that nobody talks about anything other than bitcoin, and so the user base is just a big crypto circlejerk, and a dwindling one at that:

So much wasted potential.

nostr:npub1njst6azswskk5gp3ns8r6nr8nj0qg65acu8gaa2u9yz7yszjxs9s6k7fqx nostr:npub14gg2f7al7ef9ehju3sgpzk440jlu4vk4d49mt6eedk2kdgm96q2sak79df Nope, Nostr is just a big Bitcoin circlejerk with soydevs who want nothing more than to promote client-side censorship on the "censorship-resistant" protocol.

The dwindling numbers tell a grim story that those outside the circlejerk see as common sense:

Nostr is Just r/bitcoin. There were some who tried to make it a little more lively, but they were shut down. It was clear that the authors of the protocol and clients were more interested in zaps than building an interesting community (or, really, communities).

So that's what they got: a bunch of NPCs "zapping" each other fractions of a cent all day, smelling each other's farts, congratulating one another on their delusions of being the new banking class.

Every relay is the same. Every user is the same. Ever post is the same. "We are all such geniuses! PV!!"

Goodnight. Be a light to your world tomorrow. Be kind to someone who really needs it, even if it's just a friendly conversation or a smile at a stranger.

I could never figure out why my posts on Nostr acted so strange. I never did the NIP-05 thing, so that may have factored in with some relays rejecting non-NIP-05'd messages.

Oh well, the protocol and client creators all seem to be in agreement that they want this "decentralized, censorship-resistant protocol" to be nothing more than a homogeneous bitcoin circlejerk. The abysmal user retention numbers make it clear that the average autist who finds Nostr gets bored quickly with that, but hey, those guys just don't get it, right?
