People will always need a client to actually use Nostr. Isn't it?
Recently came across a news in which Pakistan banned Twitter for couple of days and it's only accessible through VPN.
Is Nostr immune to it? Can Nostr be banned by governments?
#Nostr #ask #twitter

Just saw that India has banned 14 encrypted messaging apps nostr:npub14h9d72dqe9r0scazqzks8x5ql688rxpnvdlz3jfzur0m93pax47qv3rrs8. What are they thinking… “largest democracy” is so misleading. Wen Nostr? #streisandmarketing
It's a sign of an Orwellian state. They want to have complete surveillance over people and silence every anti regime/state voice and movement. It's a shame that European countries and US continue to maintain friendly relations with India despite knowing their stance on human rights.
I didn't know this hashtag existed 🥰
Jack is being a hypocrite. Back in the time period of 2016-2019, when Jack was heading twitter he's complicit in suppression of Kashmiri voices. Every other day you could see Kashmiri pro freedom voices on Twitter being suspended. Even their data being provided to the government who later on harassed them.
Now, Jack is being a "liberal voice" and talking about freedom of speech and all. But when he'd the power he used it against the people. I think when it comes to CEOs of Meta, Twitter and likes - it's all about money and presence. They'd do whatever is convenient.
Doesn't make sense. What you are saying is too robotic and mechanical. Why should and why is a victim expected to "be responsible" for his words and actions? When there's a government which is violating human rights, there are no two sides at that time.
Yes. Anything centered around international relations particularly south Asian (India, Pakistan and Kashmir).
Wasn't Jack complicit in silencing pro freedom voices in Kashmir? Now, he's trying to sound like a messiah who was cornered by governments.
Jack is a freakin hypocrite!
I'm trying to find people who align to my non tech interests.
I read mostly fiction - Murakami types.
I found that tech topics here tend to find more audience.
most of the people I came across here tend to write repetitive stuff that's why my reluctance to follow most of the people.
