In 2023 we learned ledger can extract your key from the device and has now been compromised.

I’m not sure what to do. I have an air gapped Ledger that hasn’t been updated with a substantial amount of currency on it. I could wait for the storm to clear, try to move it to another device hastily….experience has taught me that hasty shifts to unproven technology is not a recipe for success in the crypto space. #ledger #bitcoin

Where do you draw the line between good security practices and full on paranoia? This has to come up with security professionals that get caught up in the grey area and go too far.

I have paranoid tendencies so I am pretty sure one day I’ll be naked in the woods hiding from satellites 📡

I aspire to not be the low hanging fruit. I use a VPN on my devices, I utilize encrypted email and file transfer. I’m not trading in military secrets, and I recognize that probably some entity somewhere could demolish all my efforts in seconds given adequate provocation. I try to support obsfucation technology, TOR, etc both financially and with bandwidth. If you don’t encrypt from your router, your ISP and others can literally see everything you do online and the targeted advertising is creepy. I like my adds on YouTube to be in a foreign language. Not only is it interesting, but it makes me feel like I’m making the right moves with OPSEC. A step further might be utilizing a VM for windows in a Linux server base machine with hard drives encrypted with LUKS or Veracrypt. I think we all have a responsibility to make surveillance as difficult as is reasonable given resources and circumstance.

Oh yea and we work weekends now too bc no place to be in the daytime. Stacked a bunch.

Displaced people with alternative lifestyles shouldn’t have to hide like criminals.

Heh I know a couple living in a tractor cab, never thought about it making their hiding easier.

As for the day to day difference between when we had an apartment, we now go to work before the sun rises and we don't bed down until after it sets so much longer work hours are easier when u don't have anywhere else to go.

Smaller realities are simple and easy to maintain too. I have more time when I’m traveling because nearly everything is use and dispose. Time to ponder, time to feel, time to look, actually see, and absorb the reality we all inhabit. Right now it is largely discouraging unfortunately.

I know. I travel a lot and see local laws making it unlawful to sleep in vehicles. I wonder how that applies to truck drivers? Oh! I know, the bourgeoisie see them as useful so they don’t apply the law to them. It’s wrong. In a pinch a gallon size ziplock bag is pretty handy and easy to put in a rest area trash can. I’d rather do that than be treated like a criminal by some millennial working at Starbucks because I didn’t want to buy a coffee at five in the afternoon but needed the bathroom code. She’d work a year to pay my expenses for a month, but she sure knows how to make a fella feel sub-human.

Yeah. The next two panels I install will be on tilt mounts, and I'm going to split the pairs differently. That should yield way better results.

Some other things to remember, panels at different voltages, ie. shade and sun will feed power from one into the other if you don’t separate them with diodes. Some panels have them built in, but most don’t. I found 15A MC4 diodes on EBay. Also, cooler panels make more power in the same sun. Some people go for a SE facing array because the local atmosphere helps keep the panels cool in the morning sun. Even a partially shaded panel can affect the overall production negatively.

This is annoying. The shadow from the peak of the house kills any output from the two panels. It's only going to get worse until the solstice. Once I get my other two panels mounted to the roof, I'll have to change how I've got them wired. The front two (farthest from where I took the pic) will be one series and the rear two will be another series. That way at least two panels will be clear nearly all of the day.

So depending on your latitude you’ll want 30 to 45 degrees vertical, and about 17 degrees SW facing if you can achieve that. Best case you have perpendicular angle of incident with the photons from every angle.
