What I do know is that in Australia homelessness is exasperated by an inability to get banked.

In Australia welfare needs a bank account to pay into. Banks need a residential address to open an account… part of their identity verification. So if you are a homeless youth escaping a dangerous home life… you are set on a difficult loop.

Bitcoin also fixes hopelessness. I’m not sure if hopelessness is related to homelessness and addiction, only each individual living those realities could answer that.

I also wonder if your premise is correct. Do homelessness and addiction need fixing? Or do they naturally resolve for all those, living it, who want to resolve them, under a different standard?

My go to is always PoW. We spent many an hour in childhood sitting in the grass barefoot pulling weeds by hand.

Anytime now I feel whelmed (not overwhelmed as I’m never presented with more than I am capable of) I sit in the grass barefoot and I weed.

The health benefits physically, emotionally, spiritually are immense. Vit D, biom building stuff from the grass and dirt, grounding and best of all you and your family get this little piece of paradise free from harsh chemicals. I am well aware this is not a ‘scientific’ observation however I think it critical to note that I don’t recall people having skin cancer and certainly not dying from it until we started lathering ourselves with harmful chemicals.

I’ve recently come to think of “Turtles All The Way Down” differently.

To me it used to mean, grant me the first miracle and I’ll explain the rest.

In religion that first miracle is God. In science that first miracle is The Big Bang.

In Spirituality that first miracle is Consciousness.

For Flat Earthers that first miracle is the first Turtle that the flat earth rests upon the back of.

For Bitcoiners that first miracle is Satoshi Nakamoto.

I’ve used in tongue in check as an amused mockery of our desperation, as humankind, to explain that which we cannot.

Having recently become a pupil of the teachings of Ayn Rand, I’ve come to think of Turtles All The Way Down in a more literal sense. I’ve come to see Turtles as those who Ayn Rand would call The Producers, those who are able to THINK and to ACT in accordance with their thoughts. Where their thoughts and their actions move them intentionally forward towards a net positive GOOD.

TATWD in the literal sense because the earth, as we know it, does rest on the backs of producers and it is producers all the way down.

Try to live in a world made only of looters and moochers, how long would it take you to starve?

To keep myself on track, each day I ask myself what am I producing? Will it be useful for humankind 100 years from now? That is how I know I’m producing something worthwhile, not something trivial and frivolous.
