FYI, Bisq has a Matrix room where P2P trades happen for first-time buyers, specifically small amounts that equate to the necessary deposit to get started in the Bisq network. Works great 👍

All roads lead to #Bitcoin.

Keep stacking!

It's really getting to me how we've treated #FreedomOfInformation over the years. Moving from easily indexed information, to gated communities like #Discord.

So many #tutorials and threads of interesting conversations that I simply can't access because I do not have an account, and cannot access a specific educational instance - The need for exclusivity has won over freedom of information in this context.

Further, the lack of #ownership over any of it is worrying. Even just in the last 6 years, there's been so much. And one day it may just vanish.

I dunno, I suppose I reminisce back to when communities could still exist, topic-specific circles still existed, but the information was made easily accessible - And it wasn't too long ago really.

It's what made pushed the #internet to be the cradle of #knowledge that it is today.

I think the fact they use submarine-swaps is biting them in the ass. Unfortunate but it is what it is. I think, at the time, submarine swaps made Muun stand apart and solved some interesting limitations while the Lightning network still grew.

But as the timechain fees (and usage) increases, and with lightning much more robust than it was 1-2 years ago, maybe Muun's way of handling things aren't the best way anymore.

CashApp is custodial so you don't have access to your keys. Not your keys, not your coins.

Try something like BlueWallet which lets you buy Bitcoin via MoonPay (May have KYC).

You can then utilise BlueWallet on Mobile, and and another app on desktop using the same seed, so you can access your Bitcoin from both.

For non-KYC, P2P, go with https://bisq.network.

I've done 100s of trades, can fully recommend it.

It may seem a little daunting at first as the UI does little to hide its immense features (they're working on a UI overhaul), but take a stab at it, it's really great.

You have a couple options. The desktop app throws you into the actual network, and it's a full-fledged and featured application. For transacting though, it assumes you already have some Bitcoin to use for deposits.

If you don't have any, the Bisq Matrix Space has a chatroom for first-time buyers. It's all P2P.
