I’m an artist living in Florida but I also have ties to Taiwan. I do oil paintings and tie dye shirts.

I like Honda Supercubs. I’ve never ridden one but I like the way they look. I saw this at a scenic tourist place in Seoul. I’ve seen quite a few of them here. #travel #southkorea #seoul #honda #supercub #motorcycles #scooters

Namsangol Hanok Village, Seoul, South Korea.

I’m in South Korea for a few days. We’re visiting my daughter who is teaching kindergarten here. Then we’re headed back to Taiwan got a few days before going home to Florida. Does anyone know fun things to do in Seoul?

My first objection to Bitcoin was that you can’t spend it anywhere. I eventually went ahead and started buying anyway, but maybe if more businesses started accepting it as payment then more normies would adopt it.

Demon possession is real. Also going along with the crowd to fit in is real. It could be a combination of both of those things.

Went to this scenic spot yesterday. The rock formation in the first photo is called the Queen’s Head and it’s pretty famous in Taiwan. #taiwan #tourism #travel

Fasting for 72 hours is the best medicine in the world.

It stimulates your body to "eat" tumors, inflammation, and toxins.

It's literally an inner doctor.

This is how to fast properly (according to science): 🧵

Many people think fasting is only for weight loss or to give the digestive system a break.

But the "magic" happens at the cellular level through autophagy.

This is where the body literally begins to devour itself.

Autophagy = cellular cleanup.

During prolonged fasting, cells begin recycling damaged proteins, dysfunctional mitochondria, and even early-stage cancer cells.

The body finally has a chance to eliminate the accumulated waste that has been causing inflammation and disease.

What does science say about fasting?

A 2014 USC study showed that 72-hour fasts triggered the regeneration of white blood cells from stem cells, essentially reactivating the immune system.

It's well known that fasting works for many conditions.

But why? Because...

It addresses a root cause that modern medicine often overlooks:

The accumulation of cellular debris, damaged proteins, and weakened mitochondria causes chronic inflammation.

Removing these allows for natural healing.

Now that you understand the science, here's how to perform a 72-hour fast:

Before you start: Prepare your body (2-3 days before) Start intermittent fasting (16:8 method) at least 3 days before your extended fast. Eat during an 8-hour window and fast for 16 hours. This gradually activates your metabolism to burn fat.

At the same time, reduce carbohydrates and increase healthy fats in the days leading up to the fast.

This begins your body's transition into ketosis even before you begin the full fast.

Good fats to focus on include avocado, olive oil, grass-fed butter, and MCT oil.

Hours 0-24: The Challenge Phase

The first 24 hours are challenging, but manageable.

Your body is shifting to burning fat, which causes hunger, irritability, and energy swings. This is normal and temporary.

Your hunger hormone, ghrelin, begins to stabilize after the first day.

Hours 24-48: The Transition Phase

Around 36 hours, many people report an increase in mental clarity and energy as ketones fuel the brain.

Growth hormone increases by 300%, preserving muscle mass and boosting fat burning.

Fat loss accelerates dramatically.

Hours 48-72: The Healing Phase

The last 24 hours are where the deepest healing occurs.

Chronic joint pain may disappear, along with other positive changes, during this phase.

Mental fogginess dissipates as inflammation subsides.

How to overcome it without suffering?

Drink 2 to 3 liters of pure water a day.

And supplement with electrolytes.

This reduces discomfort.

What can you consume during this 72-hour fast?

• Pure water (still or sparkling)

• Black coffee (no cream or sugar)

• Black tea (herbal or regular)

• Electrolytes (as listed above)

That's it. Purists only drink water.

The most important thing: How to break a fast?

• Start with bone broth.

• Wait an hour and then eat one or two scrambled eggs or avocado.

• Wait another hour before eating a light meal with protein and healthy fats.

• Avoid carbohydrates, sugar, and processed foods for at least 24 hours afterward.

Not eating for 72 hours isn't easy.

The first time is the hardest. The second is challenging, but manageable. By the third, you'll be surprised at how easy it becomes.

Your body learns and adapts, making each subsequent fast more comfortable.

The benefits accumulate.

I’m going to do this after I get home from vacation. Too much good food here in Taiwan that I won’t be able to eat as often in Florida.

When you order a steak in Taiwan they also give you noodles, an egg, and some veggies.

This is traditional style ice cream in Taiwan. It was actually invented in YiLan County which is south east of Taipei. It is affectionately called “Bah-bu” because back in the day the ice cream guy would ride along on a bicycle with a cooler box attached squeezing a horn which made the “bah-bu” sound. Today it is found all over Taiwan in night markets and is wrapped in a thin Taiwan style tortilla with peanut shavings and cilantro.

YouTube with their stupid blocking of videos using music that is actually allowed is annoying . I’m not monetized on YouTube but it would be cool if this video could earn me some sats on Nostr. 😉

I think what is better for Bitcoin is mass adoption by regular people. The big corporations and governments adopting it will concentrate the wealth into a few organizations and it won’t spread to everyone.

Sorry, but that is a retarded interpretation of history and just plain wrong. Yes, the Kuomingtang had an authoritarian dictatorship but they were in no way on the side of the Japanese. They were the ones fighting against Japan in WW2. Taiwan was much more in line with Japan since they were a colony of Japan since 1895 and had adopted many Japanese customs. My wife’s grandfather was fluent in Taiwanese and Japanese because he and everyone else his age had a Japanese education.

After WW2 when the Kuomingtang took over and brutally repressed Taiwan, many Taiwanese began aspiring to self-determination. After martial law was finally lifted, Taiwan shifted to a representative democracy and the local Taiwanese political party is more popular than the old KMT. The only reason they don’t officially change their name to Republic of Taiwan is because China threatens to attack.

I do agree though that the US is provocative to China and doesn’t really care about Taiwan, just like they don’t really care about Ukraine. They are just using Taiwan (and Ukraine) as pawns and to sell weapons.

The thing most people don’t even consider is what the people of Taiwan want for themselves. They have the right to control their own destiny. The CCP has never once ruled over Taiwan. They don’t get to decide Taiwan’s fate. And neither do keyboard warriors who know nothing of the history of Taiwan. Taiwan should the sole decider in its own destiny, not China or the US.

I’m nowhere near being a whole coiner but according to some videos on the internet even just ₿0.1 will be generational wealth. Hope they're right.

I’m sitting in the ER waiting room with my niece. My father-in-law is getting checked out by doctors. He just got an xray and they’re going to do blood work. That’s all I know. We got a phone call at 2:30 am and used uber to get here. My wife and mother-in-law are inside with my father-in-law. It’s now 3:42 and I’m super tired after traveling around Taiwan the past three days. Wish I could go back to bed. 💤

Greetings from Taiwan. Here are a few pictures from yesterday.

This cat was at the traditional instrument store we visited recently. Super nice and cute. My son had to buy some reads and a new mouthpiece got his Suona (a Chinese instrument that is similar to a clarinet?).

I wonder if it might be better for more regular people to start buying and using some bitcoin rather than just a handful of huge companies buying a ton of it and holding.

Good afternoon. Here are some pictures from Taiwan- two from today and two from yesterday. The first two are from Yi-Lan County where my wife is from. The second two are from Tamsui in northern Taiwan. We went to see Fort San Domingo which was first established and abandoned by the Spanish in the 1600s. The site was later built up by the Dutch who had established a colony on Taiwan. They were later defeated by Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga) who established the Kingdom of Tungning on Taiwan.
