Reminds me of a popular saying from the triathlon and other endurance athlete communities...."pain is weakness leaving the body".

Your suggestion re: scapula is familiar to me. I suspect as you probably already know my issue was probably 90% psychological.

Muscle memory, path of least resistance, etc. I got into power lifting in my 20's. At that point I had already become too dependent on using my deltoids. Given the right circumstances and in enough time, dumbbell flies could do the trick a little bit. Water under the bridge at this point.

My goal these days is good bone density. No point in living to the ripe old age of 150 years if I have brittle bones and can't hike in the woods on a sunny day .

But yeah..I would put a few days between squats and dead lifts days if your goal is muscle mass.

Strength exercises are not always the same for gaining mass. I suspect you already know this.

Some random trivial #CaneCorso observations.

In the Corso community this is usually called "airplane ears".

If the eyes are closed with airplane ears, pooch is relaxed, tired or sleepy.

If you see the whites of the eyes with the airplane ears, it means she is not comfortable, and you (the Humanee) need to change the situation or withdraw from the situation (yellow mode), otherwise they will take matters into their own teeth.

The bite force of a #canecorso is 700psi, second only to the Turkish kangol. An adult lion is about 600psi for some context.

When a cane corso bites they crush bones.

I have some thoughts on this and would like to reply and share when I'm in the right head space. So I'm bookmarking.

But in short....sometimes we must do the things we do, not because we want to, but because there are others that depend on us.

There will be a time when the only factors that you must consider in a decision making point is you. Until then give 95% of yourself to what needs to be done and give 5% (or less) to that thing you want to be your purpose. It keeps that candle burning long enough until the time is right for you and those that matter to you.

With all that said, different body types respond differently to these types of stresses.

My body has always been most reactive to deadlifts and squats. I can see gains with the benchpress, but I have broad shoulders (humble brag) and my shoulders always tend to respond more to the benchpress then my pecs. I've never really figured out how to shut the shoulder off and let the pecs do what it's should be doing.

I've never found it productive or rewarding to do deadlifts and squats on the same day.

When I was younger I put 3-4 days between a deadlift day and a squat day. As I've gotten older I put a week between my squat and deadlift days. I find that you get the most gains from both when they are days apart.

The more of my time and energy I store in #bitcoin the better my sleep gets every night and the less I give 2 f@cks about what's going on in the (MSM) news.

I suspect in time all will make there way to #graphene...or something comparable. I'm not ready for that yet, but I see the use case in the not too distant future.

nostr:npub1zeuyhtvpk7uzzhhye6s2muz8jw46n2pkvzre933szr4ua473snyqesxvfp thanks for helping me get my wallet and node situation figured out. UTXO management is now a significantly less complicated, especially using #Sparrow wallet.

I switched from iOS to Android Pixel7 Pro when I tripped into the #btc #rabbithole.

I still use my iPhone, but acclimating to my pixel more each day. iOS is a sommether ux, both my parents figured out how to use it with little instruction.

Android requires a bit of a brain rewiring, but much more customizable in technical ways.

My parents would likely not be able to figure it out.

๐Ÿ’ฏ% in agreement eyemidol. Probably also one of the most dangerous lifts as well some might argue.
