Good afternoon fellow #NOSTR Fam!
Not sure how your week is going but mine is akin to round 4 of a #marathon (miles 19-24).
It sorta sucks, but you have to keep on stepping. Need to get to mile marker 24.

It's like the frog and boiling water situation. You become num to it so don't notice it.
But like you did, it'll be getting turned off for good in a few weeks. I was just without it for 2 weeks and didn't even think about it.
It's gives you a magnified level of appreciation. Mine comes up usually in September for a month. And she gets to tour and visit family all across the Northeast for 6-weeks. Giving my sister and niece a break.
For sure. You don't notice how off-putting it is until you've been away from it for a period and return to it.
Yeah. Noticed it today. They're constantly dropping Easter egg features.
Cutting over a better choice of words.
My first civilian gig...retrofitting 1a switches with lucent 5ess switches.
Haven't heard that reference in some time.
Ok...so #Amethyst now audibly sounds off username.
Shout out to the #Amerhyst team.
Making it really hard for me to go out there and play with some of these other #android clients.
Good for you!
It's traumatic to me as an adult. I can't imagine how kids are processing it.
When I am without cable, I can't say I miss it or even think about it. Podcasts and audibles are just as entertaining and informative.
If you go without cable for a week or so, then you turn on the TV and see some of these commercials that are airing....you'd think you lived on Mars or something.
The drug commercials are probably the most confusing. There is an Rx for every conceivable nuisance.
Left pinky itches on Tuesdays....Try blazay blah.
Then the disclaimer, if your left pinky is allergic to this drug, causes depression, gives you heart attacks or strokes, stop taking and visit your doctor immediately.

Do you get to visit them often?
I'm sure. All states come with their trade offs.
I've always felt it was a good place to basically "stay out of the way" of a lot of the madness one tends to experience from NY to DC. I'm currently in PA, so kind of in the middle of it.
I've been taking road trips up that way for a few years now.
It can be tough, especially when they're not physically close.
But in my case it's a family effort, sisters and mini me bare the bulk of the heavy lifting. I'm mostly emotional support and cheerleader the last few years.
But hoping to give them a break soon and do some of the heavy lifting.
Last September I was going to move to Maine (with my mom) this fall (2023). Had meetings scheduled and time blocked to connect with a realtor in #Maine.
Family held meeting (read...intervention).
Altamatum was delivered..."if you move to Maine with mom, you will have to care for her by yourself. None of us are interested in making regular trips to Maine....to help you with mom.
Me: [Head sags]...O K . I'll stay here (closer to airport).
Mom (Today): Am I still coming up to Maine with you and the pooch in the fall?!
She doesn't remember much these days. But she does remember the oddest conversations.

Looking for some #audible recommendations from you all.
Assume I've already listened to or read all the staples at least once.
Thanks in advance!

The light at the end of that tunnel is that this is one of those things that Bitcoin fixes. Not just for us, but for all.
