I'm going to test this much more extensively over the next couple of weeks, but if it continues to be as good as it has been in the beta, I can't fathom why i would ever use a password manager that has a centralized service.

I trusted LastPass for a long time, but after their leak of their centralized servers, I had to go through the excruciatingly slow process of changing all of my passwords on every account. I still have some lingering that aren't very important that I haven't updated to this day.

Having full control, a layer of network and local encryption, direct connections between devices, blind forwarding from the network if desired, and it being easy and simple to use and connect (no port forwarding nonsense) I cant see why i would ever take the trade off of any centralized alternative when it doesn't even come with any perceived benefit.

P2P might be slow to finally solving our problems. But the decentralized web is eventually, and simply, going to give us a better UX. And we are building it now.

idea: iphone/android call feature where instead of initiating a call right away, it sends a “call request” text message that expires after N minutes. If the user clicks accept the call goes through. Would be a polite/more chill way to initiate a call

Implementing an email-based recovery flow right now, and it's incredibly prone to very bad security-related errors. Nostr makes everything so easy, the threat model is incredibly simple when the user holds their key. Having keys even makes email based recovery more secure, because I can use them to guarantee that the person who initiates the recovery process is the one who completes it, completely eliminating a whole class of MITM attacks.

But in your case, you only retain users data stripped of PII for 48 hours? Are you trying to tell me that you don't train on that data in that 24 hour 48 hour period? This seems highly sus as my kids would say. Where is your decentralization protocol? Where is your verifiable scarcity? Where is your actual proof of all you say? Love the concept! I'll tell you something, everything I've ever seemed to actually succeed at never felt like I was succeeding. To the contrary, it seems to always feel like i'm fucking up over and over and over again until something starts working.
