I started to draft this. Very raw, however I think subscriptions can be embedded into apps - and be visible, transparent, show upcoming, etc. bolt12 May help make it better too, but I’d still rather manual push payments anyway.

Yep. Telemetry… not everything needs it. Like seriously, talk to your users - don’t spy on them.

I’ll likely migrate off at some point. After they took venture funds and did weird stuff like acquiring other companies.. they lost their soul.

Venture funding inevitably destroys all.

Would it make sense to perhaps have a url handler that has the kind in it, so I’m cases like this it could try open another app that does support that kind?

I realise kinds are unlimited.. but perhaps ones that should show content are manageable.

https://nostter.vercel.app/home is cool. It has a feature to change your default reactions to 🐾.

Just to clarify, what you’ve done is great. I was more so sharing Nostr Network wide considerations we need to progress for a better experience.

Even just a way to embed a Unix time into an event content (like an image or mention) or tags if needed (better for search perhaps? Not perfect), that can be rendered or calculated against the readers Timezone.

A way to share a relative time time in Nostr content would be cool. What is your tomorrow in my time? 8 hours? 16 hours?

Trying to compare timezones or count GMT hours is legacy.

Blue Wallet continues to be one of the best wallets around. Reliable, flexible, regular updates, and support for newer features. Solid team behind it.

Ha. I stumbled upon it a while back and they are such an awesome animal. I don’t self-relate, but I greatly admire their being.

The project has 3 days age from first GitHub commit.. but could be older.

The creator is https://twitter.com/highlevelbtc, so maybe he can respond better.

However I don’t believe it has inventory, as events created by you would need to be updated after buyer interaction (can be done, just harder if hosted entirely on Nostr). And no lightning yet, I imagine it’s possible, but has some different technical considerations too.

Stay Classy Nostr

The self-custodial Bitcoin webstore was created by High Level BTC. All credit to him.

I just haven’t been able to find his pubkey / Nostr Account yet.

https://twitter.com/highlevelbtc

Looks interesting.

It’s a little confusing on the homepage what ‘private key’ means.. but on another page it mentions Nostr, so that cleared it up.

One other thought here.. it’s possible to use this for Relay Auth by sending the same in the websocket http connect header.

I don’t believe websockets should live longer than 30 minutes in the real world at scale (see LinkedIn, Facebook, Netflix, other engineering talks).

Perhaps it can even replace it.

Hi Nostr, if you can please just tell me what I’m doing wrong.. only one no-named Nostr account has muted me 😨

Well the truth is unless we KYC all accounts we will never know.

It’s funny, when you built tools to protect against censorship, you also lose a single reference point. The network is no longer homogeneous or has a single truth.

Without getting into ‘what is an active user’, because that has to be defined well first, and is different from current platforms who track reads/logins - what even is a user?

There are lots of bridge bots who rebroadcast content from other networks. They seem like users - but are they? You’d think not, but they appear real in data (ignoring subtleties). Minds broadcasts from their network to Nostr.. it’s real users, just another access method - but users don’t necessarily post Nostr events directly.

You can measure derivatives, like relay active connections, unique posts a day, paid NIP-05, or paid relay users, ZAPs, etc.

It’s late and I don’t claim these numbers are directly meaningful, however I have 17MM events, with very little spam. And I have 100,658 users with > 10 events and a name/display name set. 366,000 with > 1 event (and name/display name).

The Damus Nostr Account has 164,186 followers - and all new app users follow that account by default.

If we legit hit 700,000+ active users four days in a row, I have no idea how.
