When connecting, I seem to connect through Instagram which is installed on my android and which uses the same login as threads. Then the connection loads forever and never succeeds. I'm wondering if this is it. Maybe I should uninstall Instagram and force a raw login?

It couldn't be nostr tho, it's got to be the admins of the nostr clients who can control visibility on their client. Right? If so, I suppose that's technically fine, since other clients will come along to remedy this

this is definitely me. Nostr principles (interoperability, resilience) brought me in, #lightningnetwork and its potential got me orange pilled
the #lightningnetwork is super exciting. every flea market, farmers market, bike shop and zine fair should be using it
& @NVK more bitcoiners sure, but nostr (and it's most attractive clients lke nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg) is definitely plagued by an overemphasis on Bitcoin. The protocol itself and its visionary principles could be a great source of attraction for FOSS types and the Twitter braindrain more generally (most of whom are still adrift I might add). Creatives who could be greatly benefitting from the lightning system are turned off by the goopy ai-art-adjacent UIs & the upfront emphasis on Bitcoin which is an immediate buzzkill and will remain despite a bullish Bitcoin imo. This amazing Bitcoin use case should (and will) come downstream from nostr adoption.

Primal uses strike.me as a custodial wallet. Meaning they old the money and have to comply with US banking and money transfer laws. You could use a wallet which is non-custodial and it’ll work. Unfortunately it’s harder to setup. Maybe nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg could help you figure out cashu for a nostr wallet.
