It seems to work quite well? 😅

🛡️ “Money has become data. Now it’s a civil rights issue.”

@TraceMayer explains why private keys = free speech, and how the First and Fourth Amendments are being tested in the age of Bitcoin.

Trace is working to pass bills in nostr:nprofile1qyx8wumn8ghj7cnjvghxjmcpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqg8pq4tjn4g7qdanc98gc4hzc7wzyxpnshv54tdn9ewu3qyje5877snryfwx & @SenLummis's Wyoming, and @SenMikeLee & @SenJohnCurtis's Utah, that would ban the government from forcing you to reveal your private keys in any legal case, civil or criminal.

🎧 Watch this clip. Then ask yourself:

If speech is protected, and private keys are speech…

Can the state force you to hand them over?

At state level they cannot "print" new money, so this shouldn't lead to further inflation. It's a redistribution of existing money, rather than "printing" of new money.

China may be looking at thorium, not they've also added more renewable capacity (mostly solar/wind) in 2024 than the US has in is entire history. China is well underway to a mostly renewable grid and even globally, renewable capacity is still growing exponentially

Thorium reactors on the other hand hardly exist yet, let alone at scale

Over the last 100 days I've honestly been surprised by the vast number of boot-licking "libertarians"

You seem to try to move away from the Spain/Portugal incident in your OP, for which no facts about the root cause are known yet, to a broader "net-zero" discussion.

If there really is a "broad consensus" amongst EU grid operators, it shouldn't be difficult for you to produce some credible references from these same operators.

I'm not aware of this consensus, except in a small misinformed libertarian bubble...

I trust the grid operator engineers to do a solid analysis of the root cause of the problem before I make any assumptions.

You on the other hand, felt the need to judge before any of the facts are even known and then doubled down by quoting a 2023 testimony by Schellenberger, the former propagandist of Hugo Chavez who will say anything for money.

Why are you so eager to draw preliminary conclusions that confirm your own bias? The investigation hasn't even started yet. Is it really that urgent to start the anti-renewable propaganda?

It's only spring and it wasn't even particularly sunny yesterday. The grid in Spain and Portugal is used to dealing with a lot more sun than yesterday in summertime.

Not necessarily a decade, but otherwise yes, you can and should expect due process
