Is that that big of a problem though? Tbh I've looked over Simplex and its drawbacks seem worse that sharing of metadata.
Simplex has a really poor user experience and doesn't also allow sharing of chats across devices. I'd trade the visibility of metadata over those inconveniences.
"Reducing the number of participants needed to extend the blockchain increases the speed and scalability of the system, while validation by all parties ensures integrity of the transaction history."
From the Elements documentation (https://elementsproject.org/how-it-works), on top of which Liquid (https://liquid.net/governance) is built upon. By definition, it is the antithesis of #bitcoin, as it employs centralization in the hands of a few companies.
Sure, they try to mask it with a layer of democracy on top (through their annual 3 Federation Boards re-election), but don’t be fooled. It’s a #bitcoin masked version of a FED.
Stop trying to come up with solutions to problems that don’t exist. #bitcoin and #lightning already solve the entire monetary system. The only thing that we’re currently missing is a decentralised marketplace which runs on #bitcoin. And that’s currently being tackled by either CivKit (https://github.com/civkit/paper/blob/main/civ_kit_paper.pdf) or similar projects.
Focus on the right tech and disregard the rest. Otherwise we’re wasting all our collective time.
I agree with the other examples, but why also DMs?
Why wouldn't people use DMs though?
Such a fucking clown move. But then again that's Elon all along, what do you expect? nostr:note12kn24jrfxy2rkc36q5gfgfs7aaextk54gn49mcuxaml4efdn6lzsh7wyv0
Why charge an EV when you can just swap its battery?

Pls. Stop. The swapping batteries idea was bad from the beginning. Stop pouring more money on this...
I was just wondering why none of my messages were received 😂
Tbh I don't think that will fix the issue either. Running a server implies monthly costs. So why not have a monthly subscription fee, which is lower than the one time only fee model currently employed by all servers?
I agree with you that the best way to ensure your own notes preservation is to self host, but you do realize that the average Joe will never do that, right? So we need a good enough fallback solution for the masses.
Split between Facebook (mostly for local news), Twitter and Nostr.
Elon Musk just changed Twitter’s logo again — sort of
https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/25/23807418/twitter-x-logo-design-change-elon-musk
This guy is... Hopeless.
Still really looking forward to Bolt12. That way you only need a non-custodial wallet for everything.
Why not just build this into Damus on your profile screen? There's where I would expect to find both a "Broadcast all notes" and a "Delete all notes" button.
Shouldn't this be the responsibility of nostr clients? Like having a button on your profile screen called "Broadcast all", just like for example Damus has the "Broadcast" button on a single note.
EU will spend €43 billion to stay competitive on chip production

About damn time tbh..
Why not just rely on #nostr for single & group chat?
Why not just buy more #bitcoin with it? 😉
