Am I taking crazy pills or is this a big deal?

"Starting in September 2026, Android will require all apps to be registered by verified developers in order to be installed on certified Android devices"

As someone who doesn't have a strong understanding of what mempool is, what are the benefits of not allowing a node runner to filter out OP_RETURN and what are the benefits of filtering / configuring it?

Am I even framing the question correctly?

I would like to hear from core 30 ppl because so far knots seems reasonable and I see a lot of "you're a retard" coming from the other side.

Who said "We control the height of the flame?"

What did they mean by that?

10/07 was indeed "just like 9/11." The military was ordered to stand down for 8 hours. You can't sick a rabid dog on someone and then blame the dog. Yes, the dog needs to be put down but so do the individuals who purposely set up the dominoes in the first place and then knocked them down. Any other interpretation seems dishonest to me.

Anyone who funds both sides of a war is a different kind of evil.

I have a tendency of adding the response to the subpost by mistake. It's a reason for the social contract from those who enforce it.

Or that they rape and pillage because there is no state authority for them to bow to.

Depends on the purpose of the podcast. If the subject is Minecraft then follow the audiences interests. If its journalistic then be honest and have a low time preference.

Does this mean that Android devices will not be able to to simply install apk files going forward?

I imagine AOSP forks will still be used to get around this but the network effect is governed by normie's that want their devices to Just Work™

I don't think this is google play store stuff. I think this is device * Android OS stuff.

The cartel is real. Android is iOS.

Its similar to what the TSA agent said to me when I opted out of the facial recognition photo recently.

"They already have all of your information. Everything you do is tracked. They know everything about you."

It must matter still if they feel its so important to convince me that I'm powerless and that I should just give up all resistance.

I am glad she said "they" and not "we" though. At least she knows she's separate from the "authority" that is keeping her and her family fed.

Its all corn syrup to me! Jarritos and Jones soda for my family. And only on occassion. If only I had the same restraint when it comes to beer!

I've been reading Programmed to Kill and this page stands out to me when I think of war.

I don't expect anyone to know the answer to this question. But it really is what has kept me from accept a religion as The Religion.

I have read about the parallels of Christianity with ancient religions. The messiah born of a virgin who performs miracles and is sacrificed.

There are real dark entities in this world. Children are born into incestuous families. Some are abused their whole lives and then sacrificed before they have even heard of Jesus or any other messianic figure. What of them? Are they sinners and do they go to hell for not accepting Jesus as the only way to get to into heaven?

In my mind the story of Jesus gives religious cults permission to stop sacrificing other human beings.

It seems like the best we can do is buy a raspberry pi and and modules (e-ink screen, gsm modem, etc... ) for anything approximating "open source hardware"

DIY is labor intensive tho.

Nicholas Tartaglione could have been Jeffrey's protection for all we know. Jeff could have gotten a new face while the rest of the world was wearing Covid tinfoil hats on their faces. Could be ordering shit on Amazon from an Island somewhere. A lot of kids disappeared when the southern border was open. These people are monsters.

It seems like it just wants to turn right. I wonder if its using the map to navigate instead of using the front facing sensors to stay in the lane.

You are right. They also opened themselves up to legal attacks on digital lending when they allowed college students to download text books gratis during the lockdowns against the will of the big academic publishers.

This is a shame. Archive.org may be the most important website on the internet.
