I'm a photographer/filmmaker/theatre artist based out of Anchorage, Alaska. Timezone GMT-9

Got it running! Thanks so much for the help!

The fix was to turn immersion mode on, which is what "disables" the fans. They still run, but I guess it stops trying to make sure theyare there? And then I tuned to 800w with that setting turned on.

Going to go through and test tuning at different w next to find what setting has the best efficiency under 1200w.

Again, thanks for the help!

Weird new twist.

Now with both new fans connected and running it had decided to stick itself at 615 watts and is keep the temp at about 57c, which would be great, except now its running so cool it's not a very good heater, more of a luke warm fan 🤦.

Ugh. Gonna get there.

Does anybody have experience replacing the stock fans on a antminer s9 with Phantek T30s? I'm dipping my toes into mining with an s9 (Alaskan winter is coming, time for a toasty new underdesk heater) but it errors out saying there are no fans, even though both fans are running and their RPMa show up in the dashboard.

It's running Brains OS+

Any help would be appreciated these stock fans are loud af.

Lets see if I can make one of these heaters do the thing.

Oof. There are definitely benefits to being an elder millinial. Just bbs, usenet with it's anarchist & warez, and creepy old people on aol chat.

I'd had a kid of my own when Myspace launched. My friend Tom worked for them. (Not *that* Tom).

Rotten Tomatoes has their % Fresh rating system. Potatoes get roasted.

Although, I guess that could be confusing since Roasted is good for potatoes, but saying a movie was more roasted (roastable?) would mean that the movie was bad.

This all made sense in my head 😅

afaik* (and assuming you are in the US) the official IRS rule is that any transaction involving bitcoin, except transfers between your own accounts as a reportanble transaction.

So if someone paid you via lighting you would need to know the USD market price at the moment of every transaction, as they would be reported as income at that value.

Also, when you spent or converted the btc you would need to know the USD value at that moment and report as either a captol gain/loss (usually as a first in/first out calculation). You can someone game the system on capitol gains tax by selling, then rebuying to capture the loss to get a tax deduction, or accept the gain at a time when you'll pay less in tax for it.

That is all assuming you want to be full legit and have your paperwork ready in case of an audit.

*I am not an accountant, this is info I found while a while back, but I think is still accurate.

I like to give every new client a try, because who knows, they may have a killer new feature that's gonna blow my mind. Or they might just have something mundain they do really really well.

@zbd was my first wallet, and was sort of my initial path into nostr. I don't use the client much, I got on the waitlist for social and ended up setting up a profile through iris.to but I tend to gravitate back to Amethyst for the most part. I've got a zbd social profile now, and do the daily quest and play with bitminer. I don't do the surveys because they require me to drop my vpn and I'm just not down with that.

This is a bit cheesy, but my username, zyrotin is a misspelling of the anticonvulsant med zarontin. My wife has epilepsy and after several years of trying differented med combos it was the one held things together.

I'd love to see lighting.video get nostr nsec/extension login support. It's cool they've got ln auth, but tying more directly into nostr would be cool.
