Can anyone point me in the right direction for adding apps to my "Recommends" on my profile in #Amethyst?

Oh,I have a lightning address. Just can't use it in Fountain, and Fountain isn't letting me set up a lightning wallet in the app for boosting.

I guess I am waiting for them to add NWC to use my own wallet...

Using holepunch/pear is one option. Another may be this: @note1skq6njq098cmune3mz35s9snxuftdz3yx35cqyrlux3nv7vpdzlsfygf0l

And, of course, use devices that allow us to install whatever we want without having to rely on a single app store.

Zap.store on Android is incredible, and I can't wait to see app selection on there grow.

Ultimately, the outbox model and enough people running their own small relays will eliminate this issue, especially if we can host relays accessible without the need for DNS or IP.

Does the wallet load fine on your Alby dashboard? Use Nostr Wallet Connect from there, rather than from your node.

Go to https://getalby.com/connections while logged into your Alby account and select "NWC Connections" and add a new connection for Damus. Paste that connection string to Damus and Zap away.

Trying to enforce copyright is already an endless game of whack-a-mole on the internet. Clients have no way of removing content, as it lives on relays. Maybe one relay owner respects copyright while another doesn't care. Good luck getting it taken down from every relay out there. And if the "violator" has their own copy, they can just rebroadcast to different relays.

So for now I use nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 for most things, noStrudel "next" mobile web for self-sovereign photo uploads, noStrudel regular on desktop browser to write long form stuff and read longer threads, and Fountain for podcast stuff.

On the one hand: what a mess.

On the other hand: I don't have to beg Elon or any specific single app to fix all the things. Because identity is portable.

Not sure which I prefer. I have a similar situation on Android.

nostr:npub142gywvjkq0dv6nupggyn2euhx4nduwc7yz5f24ah9rpmunr2s39se3xrj0 is my primary client for most things, but I LOVE coracle.social for discovering new folks to follow. I also use noStrudel on my PC, and have been using Ditto more and more, just because it is a really nice experience. But I also use habla.news or highlighter.com for writing and reading long-form articles, and Fountain for podcasts and music.

I do like that Amethyst has a lot of what I want on a regular basis, and maybe it would be cool if it integrated podcasts, too, but sometimes I JUST want one type of content, and having a separate client that optimizes for that content type is valuable compared to a super-app that tries to include everything.

Same kind of thing with recipes, right? I would rather go to a client like nostr.cooking than for Amethyst to add a tab just for recipes, or worse, add them into the main feed.

Indeed! We worship an eternal God who sees the end from the beginning!

Yeah, the Outbox model + a DHT to store information about what relay any given user is writing to can completely eliminate this "relays aren't sustainable or scalable" argument.

To brighten up your Thursday (Friday eve).
