Let me know if you want a hand getting it set up on Start9.

Shill the man your favorite clients and features from the last several months.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for adding apps to my "Recommends" on my profile in #Amethyst?

Zaps will go to whatever wallet is listed as your lightning address on your profile. Right now that appears to be your Alby wallet.
Oh,I have a lightning address. Just can't use it in Fountain, and Fountain isn't letting me set up a lightning wallet in the app for boosting.
I guess I am waiting for them to add NWC to use my own wallet...
I did do that...
Show my wife a warm welcome to #Nostr!

Using holepunch/pear is one option. Another may be this: @note1skq6njq098cmune3mz35s9snxuftdz3yx35cqyrlux3nv7vpdzlsfygf0l
And, of course, use devices that allow us to install whatever we want without having to rely on a single app store.
Zap.store on Android is incredible, and I can't wait to see app selection on there grow.
Ultimately, the outbox model and enough people running their own small relays will eliminate this issue, especially if we can host relays accessible without the need for DNS or IP.
Does the wallet load fine on your Alby dashboard? Use Nostr Wallet Connect from there, rather than from your node.
Go to https://getalby.com/connections while logged into your Alby account and select "NWC Connections" and add a new connection for Damus. Paste that connection string to Damus and Zap away.
Trying to enforce copyright is already an endless game of whack-a-mole on the internet. Clients have no way of removing content, as it lives on relays. Maybe one relay owner respects copyright while another doesn't care. Good luck getting it taken down from every relay out there. And if the "violator" has their own copy, they can just rebroadcast to different relays.
Being able to boost and comment on Fountain as a post on Nostr is just cool.

Still haven't figured out how to get a wallet set up since logging in with Nostr.
I'll be teaching an Adult Sunday School class on the Larger Catechism beginning 9/8. Have any helpful resources? I plan to follow Vos' study guide, but it's a bit dry. Got anything juicy? Really want to help move my brothers and sisters "from Milk to Meat" (the somewhat unoriginal course title) but I want the juicy nutritional deliciousness of a mature understanding to really hit home: meaningful for hourly life, theology that leads to uncontainable doxology.
Since we meet at 9:30 AM, maybe the unofficial title will be "Steak for Breakfast."
Anyway, SNED THOUGHTS if you got 'em.
Oh, and here's a helpful little blurb about the history of the WLC, from New Horizons (2000) -- https://www.opc.org/new_horizons/NH00/0010b.html - I learned a thing or two from (now) Dr. Van Dixhoorn...

Don't sleep on the Scripture proofs the Westminster divines included.
I have taught through nearly the whole Shorter Catechism with our Youth Group over the last 3 years and those Scripture proofs have been very helpful for showing them this isn't just "teachings of men."
exploring #nostr should be gamified by using #badges. apps should award badges for the npubs that use their note format. for example a "blogstr" badge for posting a blog on nostr:npub1048qg5p6kfnpth2l98kq3dffg097tutm4npsz2exygx25ge2k9xqf5x3nf or "streamsrt" badge for streming on nostr:npub1eaz6dwsnvwkha5sn5puwwyxjgy26uusundrm684lg3vw4ma5c2jsqarcgz.
Dude... Give me a list of badges I can earn and what I need to do to earn them and I will try all the things.
So for now I use nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 for most things, noStrudel "next" mobile web for self-sovereign photo uploads, noStrudel regular on desktop browser to write long form stuff and read longer threads, and Fountain for podcast stuff.
On the one hand: what a mess.
On the other hand: I don't have to beg Elon or any specific single app to fix all the things. Because identity is portable.
Not sure which I prefer. I have a similar situation on Android.
nostr:npub142gywvjkq0dv6nupggyn2euhx4nduwc7yz5f24ah9rpmunr2s39se3xrj0 is my primary client for most things, but I LOVE coracle.social for discovering new folks to follow. I also use noStrudel on my PC, and have been using Ditto more and more, just because it is a really nice experience. But I also use habla.news or highlighter.com for writing and reading long-form articles, and Fountain for podcasts and music.
I do like that Amethyst has a lot of what I want on a regular basis, and maybe it would be cool if it integrated podcasts, too, but sometimes I JUST want one type of content, and having a separate client that optimizes for that content type is valuable compared to a super-app that tries to include everything.
Same kind of thing with recipes, right? I would rather go to a client like nostr.cooking than for Amethyst to add a tab just for recipes, or worse, add them into the main feed.
GM #Nostriches. Time to get some coffee and try to outperform #Bitcoin with your productivity.
Yeah, the Outbox model + a DHT to store information about what relay any given user is writing to can completely eliminate this "relays aren't sustainable or scalable" argument.
Not sure... I use Nos2X browser extension to log in.
Also, if you are on Android, it is built into #Amethyst.
Anyone remember the site that was like an eBay/Craigslist but only paying in Bitcoin? It was definitely a thing but apparently I didn't bookmark it

Was it a pre-Nostr site? We have shopstr.store now.
To brighten up your Thursday (Friday eve).
