Yes

Ok. Figured it out. Had to be using HiveTalk from Chrome to share with audio. Firefox didn't have the option.

Is it possible to share your screen with sound in HiveTalk? Say you have a presentation that has a short video in it, is there a way for the others in the room to hear?

Depends on how technically inclined you are and what you plan to use the node for. If you want to use it with Nostr for sending and receiving zaps, then a LND implementation, such as Alby Hub, is preferable, since I don't believe Core Lightning uses Lightning Addresses, and Nostr clients haven't integrated the ability to receive via a BOLT-12 offer.

In that case, take a peek at the list of relays they are aggregating from, and broadcasting to. You do not need to have those relays in your relay list.

It is at the bottom of this page: https://docs.nostr.wine/filter/readme

Best node running on someone else's hardware? No such thing. Best node is running on your own hardware.

If you absolutely must pay someone else to host your node, Alby Hub is very user friendly and plays nice with Nostr apps via Nostr Wallet Connect.

Nostr is currently quite data intensive, since clients are reaching out to multiple relays to get data all the time.

One of the benefits of some paid relays, such as nostr.wine, is that they do this for you, aggregating notes from various public relays, so your client doesn't have to reach out to all of them separately.

As much as I am looking forward to that release (whenever we may get it) nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Hub has made my Start9 node actually usable as a daily driver for me and my family, since everything is done over Nostr Wallet Connect, which is WAY faster and more reliable than connecting through Tor.

I'm still eager for the update in order to be able to manage my node remotely without needing to do so through Tor, but I am no longer relying upon that update for my node to be useful, so I can be patient for it to arrive whenever they are ready to release it.

I believe njump.me should have what you need. Just snag the note ID and paste it like so:

"njump.me/NoteID"

See the results for your note:

Just added a new “Members Area” on https://nostr.wine where you can view and manage your subscriptions/balances for Filter, Inbox, and Cellar! Click the “Sign In” button in the top right corner to access the page.

We will be adding additional settings and configurable options here in the future. Let me know if you have any feedback or issues.

Very handy. Thank you sir!

Yes, and Amber is dead simple to use for any Android client supporting NIP-55. It's only slightly more complicated for clients supporting NIP-46. And it's a great way to get your keys generated locally on your device. Amber also gives you a mnemonic backup seed phrase by default.

I still haven't figured out how to get it to work with Spring Browser, though...

If there is any integrated means of purchasing sats, there will be KYC. They are using Strike on the back-end, and since Strike allows for buying sats, you WILL need to deal with KYC if you want to use Primal's integrated wallet.

A NIP-05 address provides a minimal level of verification, because it ties your npub to a particular domain, usually that you need to register with in order to have them associate your npub with their domain. Some of them have a cost involved, which naturally discourages spammers and bots from using them, but there are also plenty of free NIP-05 services out there, too.

There is also nothing stopping anyone who owns a domain from setting up their own NIP-05 registry, so it is not terribly useful for verifying who is a legitimate person and who is an impostor, unless the impostor is being REALLY stupid and trying to use the exact same NIP-05 address as the person they are impersonating.

NIP-05 addresses are therefore far more useful for giving to your friends so that it is easier for them to find you on Nostr, rather than having to give them your npub. Your NIP-05 can also contain relay hints so your friends will know what relays to look for your notes on.

Coracle.social in particular has great web of trust filtering built into it.

Web of trust.

For instance, if more people I follow and people they follow are already following nostr:nprofile1qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgpz4mhxue69uhkummnw3ex2mrfw3jhxtn0wfnszynhwden5te0wahhgtn4w3ux7tn0dejszxthwden5te0wdjkuerfwshxummnvekxzun99e3k7mgrcp7e2 instead of nostr:nprofile1qqspvxckleleljlh96s2j7nmsxxecwlutwpgqpztclp7z22k8jwqedcprpmhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0glacus, then I can be reasonably certain the first is legit and the second is an impersonator.

Start building your web of trust from people you know outside of Nostr and it won't take long to distinguish between most folks that anyone would try impersonating.

As in disappeared from where you had it hosted, too? That, thankfully, did not happen, but it would not have taken much to re-upload to nostr.build if it had.

My recommendation for anyone on Android would be:

Download Amber and generate a key pair.

Download Spring Browser and plug in the new nsec.

Download Amethyst and login using Amber. Set up profile in Amethyst.

Go explore all the web apps on Spring and marvel at the fact the profile made on Amethyst is the same profile displayed on all of the web apps.

I lost it recently. Had to reset it. I think I updated my profile on a client that didn't have the banner as an option.

Coracle is very close in my estimation, though. Just less feature rich, but I am really loving the custom feeds there, and it's just a better looking client overall.

Seems odd. I thought zap.store pulled latest release straight from the repo, but currently showing v0.91.0 while the repo has v0.92.1. Maybe because zap.store has been signing the releases, the new version won't populate until it's signed.

It's cool... I am not impatient at all... NEED ME THE NEW TOR FEATURES! 😂

Wen #Amethyst v0.92+ on zap.store?

Gotcha!

I thought you were talking about the tamper evident bag that the ColdCard comes in. 😂

Not sure that ENTIRELY solves the issue, though. Assuming you intend to occasionally access the device to transact, you will likely be keeping a supply of new tamper-evident bags somewhere to place the device into again after opening the previous bag to use it. If the "evil maid" knows where you keep these bags, they can simply put the device into a fresh bag after swapping the firmware. Would need some control on your supply of replacement bags.
