Please give me a ping when it's in a state that it can compile.
(To try to compile I removed the Mac compilation since I am on Linux...)

the trait `openmls_traits::storage::StorageProvider<1>` is not implemented for `SledStorage`
Seems like a dependency issue. Any tips?
I'll start playing with it. I am mostly a C++ dev bit lately I have started to use rust.
Need a helping hand? Any C++ / rust bits?

So Monero isn't as untraceable as it claims. Or did they not use Tor?
Dealing with the US tax system it dawned to me that the taxation is a powerful tool of control.
It's not about the money the government takes. It's about forcing the citizen to prove that he is complying with the tax laws. To open his books, his actions, and show them to the tax authority. This power that the government has is used to insure further compliance with government rule.
The job of a parent is to teach his child how to be good adults. The job of a child is to become a good adult.
This fetishising of children, which started in the victorian era, has a strong connection to nihilism. Adults did not like responsibility. They did not like the fact that they were in charge. They craved "the good old times" when they had no worries and a loving parent told them what to do.
I think it's clear why a nany state sounded to them so appealing.
Not only do we need to teach children to be independent. We need to teach them to love and cherish their independence. And that is done by pushing them to take as much independence and responsibility as they can, and be proud of what they achieve with it.
Inequality is feature of capitalism. In a society where property rights are respected, this who are smarter, have more talent or simply have more grit, will have more. Simply because they will produce more.
I once had a discussion with someone and he told me about the Socialist Pyramid Scheme.
At the top of the pyramid there are sociopaths. People who want power for the sake of power. Their great joy in life is controlling others. But they can't just say "give us power over you". So they wrap it up with an ideology.
At the next level of the pyramid are people who understand that what they are seeking is power. But they believe the deception of the sociopath and think that the reason that they need power is to do good.
At the lowest level of the pyramid, the rank and file, there are people who think that they are just pushing a social agenda. Without understanding how it will give power to the sociopaths at the top of the pyramid.
My point is that you can't just split society to those who want to control others and those who don't. If it was that simple it would be easy to defeat the sociopaths. There are a lot of people who believe that they are doing good by advancing socialist agendas. It's them we need to educate.
I'm excited to share an experiment I've been working on: a solar-powered, self-hosted website running on a Raspberry Pi. The goal was to use the smallest, most energy-efficient setup possible, even if it means the website goes offline sometimes. Yes, this site may go down on cloudy or cold days. But don't worry! When the sun comes out, the website will be back up, powered by sunshine. https://dri.es/my-solar-powered-and-self-hosted-website
Make it an IPFS node, duplicate it in another country and you will have a resilient web site
I completely agree. Yet I feel that something is missing.
WHY is privacy fundamental for independence? We can see how people's action change when they think they are being watched. But many will argue that the change is for the better.
People and institutions can use this information against us. But that presupposes malicious intent and overreaching.
We need a clear philosophical explanation why privacy is fundamental to liberty.
Power? It's a company. It can't use force without gov approval.
It has a lot of influence.
I know many people who need soul purification. I wish they will get it with no sorrow.

The harder it would be to move gov fiat into democratic fiat (Blockchain) the less people will use Blockchain.
Gov are trying to make it harder and harder. Mostly because they fear loss of tax revenue. I don't see a solution other then changing the tax system...
BTRFS was a disappointment for me as well. It ate my data. And it's whole "shtick" was data integrity...
How do you pay taxes? Or is there no business tax where you live?
Does anyone have experience or opinions on 1-2liter barrels for aging wine and/or mead? I've got a gallon of elderberry mead about 2 weeks into primary fermentation and a little under a gallon of very sweet concord wine (tastes like boozy Welch's mixed with Taylor port). I'm thinking about getting a few 1 or 2 liter barrels to age the wine and mead. Are there brands or manufacturers to look at or avoid? Is it overkill/overexpensive for such a small amount? #asknostr #fermentation #wine #mead nostr:nprofile1qqs0hz0937pcklt3d2yrqr4p7ffellmcwe42zys7cyyk3d43pfyc72qpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9thwden5te0dehhxarj9ehhsarj9ejx2a30qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uunfp48
Never tried it myself. From what I understand from taking to people who do it for a living the main danger is to get too much wood taste, since the barrel is small
