12 years ago there used to be this website thesixtyone.com (there are still screenshots on google) which was a great place to discover new (mostly indie) music. It was an awesome and fun experience around music.
They had gamification where they had daily tasks to listen and like/rank music. Badges were awarded based on your activity.
You could discover people by the music they like and get daily recommendations for new songs based on your followers.
I loved it.
