I just got home from a16 mile morning #BikeRide. 🚴💪
1000+ calories burned! Toning and being #fit and #healthy, now there's some #ProofOfWork for ya 🤪.
Have a great day everyone!
It is already in many businesses and cities across the world, but these things don't happen globally overnight. It takes time.
💯 Orange pilling doesn't happen overnight, and certainly not if you try to force it down their throats!
Yesterday a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while asked me how my "Crypto thesis" was going. I said I'm not writing a crypto thesis I'm writing a Bitcoin book.
I explained the difference between the two and she agreed with the premise that the overwhelming majority of cryptocurrency projects are scams, which I explained are just copies of Bitcoin which alone is not controlled by anyone.
She also commented to make sure I write about the ecological effects of Bitcoin. I replied "oh for sure! It's great! There's nothing better for the environment than Bitcoin mining" she looked like I was crazy lol.
I'm not going to be obnoxious about it, because they really have no idea and no desire to know more. They'll learn eventually though.
I did get another friend to actually engage with me for 2 hours last week and he said what I said makes a lot of sense, so I think I'm close to orange pilling him. 😀
I'm patient though, best thing you can do is be patient and confident and casually speak facts in normal conversation, and they'll come to you over time.
I'm more knowledgeable about freedom tech than the average person, yet I'm not a cyberpunk and I make mistakes to the point that I'm sure if someone wanted to figure out who I am they'd have no issue doing so given enough time. But that's true of everyone, the more knowledgeable you are the less mistakes you will make and the more effort will be required to locate you.
Just do your personal best, and try not to worry too much IMO.
Everything trends towards it's marginal cost of production.
Think of how if there are shortages in production of any market good the price of all units in the supply of that good skyrocket to increase available supply to meet demand.
Bitcoin is the only asset in history that has a forever increasing marginal cost of production, in not one but two metrics, over the long term.
Historically everything sees increased efficiency in it's production over time, even Gold. This curtails any significant gains to be had, from societal efficiency improvements, just by holding it.
But with ₿ the increasing energy efficiency of ASICs over time is countered by the difficulty adjustment, maintaining the time required to mine the same amount of ₿ while increasing the energy required. As miners get more efficient, the network adjusts the mining difficulty to absorb that efficiency and result in no net gain.
The difficulty adjustment raises, and sometimes lowers in the short term, bitcoin's marginal cost of production related to electricity (but NOT time) based on the demand for Bitcoin on the open market. Due to market dynamics this effect is what drives the hash rate increases over time, and increases bitcoin's price measured in electricity.
Further, the halving forces a sudden 100% increase in the marginal cost of production every 4 years related to TIME as well as energy.
This functionally raises Bitcoin's price as measured in time.
For the first time we have a sovereign, liquid and global, bearer asset that actively counters human efforts to make more of it for less effort, and instead requires more time / effort / energy to get it as time goes on.
Bitcoin fixes our money, and is humanity's shared savings account.

I had both for years, then earlier this year I noticed how #Eth's price has lost it's correlation to BTC's price ever since they moved to proof of stake. They've been losing ground ever since.
This happened around the same time that I realized how important mining is to inject energy into the ecosystem. Proof of stake is a Zero-Sum game which by definition is a ponzi scheme, proof of work is not. I sold all my Eth for BTC and hold no shitcoin's now.
Proof of work is what pushes the price up over the long term, as everything moves towards it's marginal cost of production which doubles every 4 years, as well as increases gradually every time there's an increasing difficulty adjustment.
I wrote my thoughts on this in more detail yesterday:

Now we just need #KenM posts and we'll be golden 😂

I'm currently 20 min into waiting on hold to try and activate a "gift card" my friend thought they bought me for our local grocery store.
Turns out it's a prepaid bank account and they're legally required to get every piece of personal info I would need to give for opening a full bank account in order for me to access the huge sum of $20 my friend paid $22 to load onto it. But there's an option to give them less personal info so I can use it in a "limited capacity" at only the grocery store. You know, like a traditional gift card that this card is masquerading as.
This is why the legacy system will lose, how much human potential is wasted on these pointless meaningless wastes of time when we can just zap each other and settle instantly? BTC makes legacy finance adjust for the new economy or go extinct.
I built my own library at home. Nearly 1000 titles. Feels great to be in control of my entertainment. I no longer have any perpetual monthly fees that keep rising, no risk of titles being removed unexpectedly, no risk of ads being introduced, no scrolling through endless trash the algorithm wants me to watch. I can choose only quality shows that have no risk of being cancelled because they're already finished and I have the complete series on disc. I just have tons of quality stuff I've researched before adding to my collection. Plus, it's just fun to browse what I have.
Long form posts are better IMO, I do them frequently too.
It is good to do #nothing.
What do I mean by that?
In society we are often pressured to work all the time, to always do something "of value" or we're "wasting our time".
But this is often done without consideration for the benefit that a long term plan will have.
When you have a plan for the future, a plan where you know WHAT you're doing and WHY you're doing it, then when you finally spend time productively the result usually ends up higher #quality than if you dive straight in without a #plan. It's like taking more time to aim your shot, and learn how to aim as well, that when you finally pull the trigger you're more likely to hit what you're aiming at vs just blindly shooting.
How do you aim and figure out what you want your effort's outcome to be if you're always working and never refining your aim? You can't. Only by taking time for yourself where you do "nothing", do you then get to think about what you want for yourself and your future.
The more you do nothing, the more you have time to think. The more thinking you do, the better able you are to plan for your future. The better you plan for your future, the better it will be.
At the end of the day the narrative of "work work work work work" keeps us all unable to think, and thus unable to plan how to break free of the system. Keeping us trapped, poor, and unable to make uncompromised decisions.
Give yourself time to do nothing, and this will lead to improving yourself mentally/physically/emotionally/financially. Both by the health benefits of relaxation and by knowing what you actually want for your life.
When thought of this way you might say "nothing is more productive than work" and that's something everyone can agree on.

They're also on Nostr if you just want to zap them: nostr:npub1zkr064avsxmxzaasppamps86ge0npwvft9yu3ymgxmk9umx3xyeq9sk6ec just sent some sats.
I took your advice and built a gif nostr companion app:
You can download the PWA to your home screen, search for your gif, copy the address and paste it into your client
On the back end, for every gif that gets copied/clicked, an API request is made to upload to nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 by nostr:npub137c5pd8gmhhe0njtsgwjgunc5xjr2vmzvglkgqs5sjeh972gqqxqjak37w
From there a nip94 request is done so that the content can be accessed by any client in the future
Now, anyone who searches for gifs using this tool is also helping to build the gif repository for nip94 and adding fallback urls to nostr.build
And all they did was click to copy #gifs

Awesome! It works!

GM Nostridges!
Everyday is a beautiful day in the modern world, even if we don't always feel that way.
Do not forget that we default to a focus on what makes us feel unsafe and afraid, even when all the evidence points to life being better than it ever has been.
We are all very lucky to be alive today; We have longer life expectancies, more knowledge of our world and cosmos, and so much more potential for growth and relaxation than we ever have in history.
Our world of abundance is already here, you just have to choose to live in it. It really is a choice, a mindset of hope and vision for the future. Choose abundance, choose hope.
This post inspired by this video I watched this morning, I highly recommend giving it a watch:
