Great collection of quotes!

The US populace depends so heavily on inexpensive goods (even tools) made in China. Cutting out China would create short term hardship for most normal people.
Installed Linux Mint Debian Edition on a Dell Latitude E5540 laptop for a customer. Replaced the slow HDD with an SSD, upgraded from 8GB to 16GB memory.
It's working great. Will extend the usefulness of this laptop for a quite a while.

I'm not a fan of the naming conventions that ASUS uses either. The laptop series is "Predator", so they named the app that controls the lighting, fans and viewing sensor information "PredatorSense".
Meh.
At least the laptop is cool, clean and quiet now.
I was curious, so did a search for Kate Rodgers on CNBC. This isn't a real headline of hers.
Clown World.
I did enjoy and learned some new things, too.
Thanks for sharing the conversation!
I listened to the Nostr 101 video by nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfnj7qgswaehxw309ahx7um5wghx6mmd9uqsuamnwvaz7tmev9382tndv5hsqgqqrzm7uvlmy5uyxcuuvt3f9lk8qznf4yas3m3hf3da49cunvu4vsep5s75 and nostr:nprofile1qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszymhwden5te0danxvcmgv95kutnsw43z7qpq8ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjq5e8lpr
Good overview. I was familiar with most of the concepts, but was worth hearing them explain nostr and share their excitement.

There's going to a be a whole lot of illiterate people!
Been working on a thermal cleaning for an ASUS laptop.
Cleaned all the sticky gunk out of the heat sink and fans. Reapplied thermal paste.
It still revs up loud, but I know it is cooling properly. I'll have to find a way to adjust the fan settings in software, as there isn't a place to do that in the BIOS.
I've had to deal with these issues with Microsoft Bitlocker recently. Looks like it will be getting worse.

I second the recommendation of keepassxc. Really great tool. Open source and you run it on your own computer.
If you are trying to download Haveno, but do not have a github account, you can use this link:

I found this service, nightly.link, as a result of trying to find a way to download github artifacts without needing to login to github.

It sounds like a decentralized trading network.
I can DM you with questions.
At 11:27 a.m Eastern time today May 14th 2024 governments around the world lost full control over #Monero because now a haveno network called reto is fully online. https://monero.town/post/3143272
it is the Monero version of bisq.
As of this time, two transactions have already occurred, and at least one of them was just a successful test.
I read the link you posted here.
Got any more links to better understand Haveno?
I'm trying to understand as much as I can about Monero.
Another way to understand the vast differences in capabilities between BigTech AI and opensource AI, is that BigTech can fake the results and make theirs look much better than it really is.
Open source "AI" can't do this kind of fakery to the same degree, by the nature of being open source. People can verify its capabilities.
My take on "AI" is that it is largely a BigTech rug pull as they bring in tons of money from stock market investors, but there's really not much practical use or profit from "AI".
"AI" is largely fake. Don't buy into the hype. It only enriches BigTech at your expense.
"You are what you repeatedly do."
I'm putting effort into forming better habits. Already seeing results!
