Thanks for sharing your past experiences with MSI. I have had mostly good experience with their recent MSI Pro line of AMD motherboards.

Good morning.
I am repairing and refurbishing computers today. Finishing the details on a AMD AM4 PC build. Refurbishing #thinkpad laptops.
Second life of Thinkpad X220 โ with new matte 2K screen, three disks inside, "new" Intel 8260 WiFi / Bluetooth and a GaN charger / external battery as sources of power.

I'm completing a custom PC build with AM4 processor. Lower end build that a teenager started, but was not able to finish on his own.
I do like the MSI Pro motherboard he chose.

I'm editing a DNS bind9 zone file that was last edited in January of 2012, so more than 13 years ago.
Feels a little weird to change that date by more than a decade.

Yesterday, I sold a refurbished ThinkPad T480s laptop to a local customer. Got an email from her this morning saying that she's really liking it. Always good to get feedback like that.
I may be selling another ThinkPad tomorrow.
Most ThinkPad laptops are a good fit for my customers because they are reliable and durable. They may not have the flashiest features, but are more likely to keep working as expected for a long time.

Good to hear!
I probably don't post enough.
You don't have to be completely private in all your business and purchases. Switching some of your economic activity still makes a significant difference.
- Use cash more frequently, as it is pretty much accepted everywhere and by anyone.
- Silver (and to a lesser extent, gold) is natural money. Silver works well with friends and family (keep the wealth close).
- Monero is great for online purchases and small tips.

... and, it's gone. (if hardly anyone uses it for cash)

We do have lots of older gear around. He has a good amount of experience with C (for his age, anyway).
My son and I are doing some web dev today. He's doing most of the work, but my role with guidance and feedback is VERY important.
We are using Go, HTMX, and PicoCSS to explore a concept.

I'm listening to ThePrimeagen comment on PewDiePie's Linux video, while I am on Linux. Also getting an earlier start to my work than usual, which hopefully will be a successful trend.

I'm pretty sure that "self host and manage everything" is not the mid-wit middle-majority position.
This week, I delivered a ThinkPad T540p laptop to a customer that I had upgraded to Windows 11 for them (not officially supported by Microsoft). Was giving them a tour of the basic features, navigation and programs... but LibreOffice wouldn't open.
It wouldn't until I changed the "compatibility mode" setting for LibreOffice to "Windows 8".
Here's a guide: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001894.htm

This is an important topic... and I think he's right to make the arguments he does. However, the reality is that the "listener supported" model is really hard to pull off. Listeners to benefit, but they have a difficult time compensating the creator.
That is one reason that I am not opposed to sponsorships. I think the sponsorship model, where an organization with something to sell pays to get in front of the audience of the creator, can be a good option. The players with money and motivation to pay, do pay.
I do not have personal experience with this model, however.
Lots of changes for me right now. Most of them good.
Me either. So I don't know.
Sorry to hear that! Do keep me updated.
Thanks. Not sure what I'll do with the laptop yet. Probably will test more to make sure it doesn't have the power issues in Linux that it did in Windows.
If it works well, I may use it as a loaner laptop, an extra laptop for myself or a family member, or sell with Linux installed on it.
