I agree about the Amethyst bit but the nsfw avi is inviting reports, and I get it tbh. Itâs just common etiquette to not do that, even if youâre trying to sell p*rn or whatever, esp because children also use social media.
Onyx isnât being updated anymore apparently because the Amethyst guy made the censorship stuff optional. I think itâs still enabled by default though.

Iâve heard GNU social is p terrible compared to the other fedi options.
Not to mention how âzapvertisementsâ are so off putting. A lot of decisions are being made that are going to drive even more ppl away.
I feel like thereâs too much focus on trying to monetise when a lot of basic stuff is broken. Practically nobody makes money running fedi instances, and there are a lot more ppl there compared to nostr.
