For over six months, we have stood united with professors and students from other faculties in defense of public universities against state pressure and repression. Through Zaps, we are now collecting donations for the community of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, which has stood with us from the very beginning of the blockade—because returning to classes under blackmail will not save the University; only our continued, united struggle will.

We wish to inform the public that students currently in blockade at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) have recently begun accepting donations in the form of Bitcoin. This initiative has been met with strong support from members of the crypto community across Serbia and the Balkans. In addition to generous contributions, many individuals have shared valuable technical advice aimed at enhancing the transparency, usability, and efficiency of the campaign.
Our Linktree profile initially included both on-chain and Lightning Network Bitcoin wallet addresses, alongside links to our social media channels. These addresses were reshared by several crypto accounts to help amplify our cause among those who support student movements and use Bitcoin as a payment method.
Over time, we transitioned to the Coinos platform for improved usability. The previously used wallet addresses remain technically valid, but they are no longer publicly displayed on our Linktree.
We categorically distance ourselves from recent speculations and negative commentary targeting the accounts @n_grbovic(X) and the now-suspended nostr:nprofile1qqst737pnc2hdhpyp7y8xa3kj5vxdppympyascarw24ulhuvc0f9wwcpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpzfmhxue69uhhqatjwpkx2urpvuhx2uc3nqrp6 Accusations suggesting that these individuals attempted to exploit or redirect funds do not originate from us. We believe such claims were made by well-intentioned individuals seeking to protect our efforts, but they have unfortunately generated unnecessary confusion.
All funds remain securely under our control. We deeply appreciate the solidarity and support we’ve received, and we reaffirm that everything is proceeding transparently and responsibly. We also express our support for those wrongly implicated, and use this opportunity to assure the public that the situation is under control.
Students in Blockade – FDU
People often confuse anarchy with decentralization. But for months now, we on university campuses across Serbia have been showing the difference — not in theory, but in practice.
Anarchy is not the same as decentralization. Anarchy means the absence of authority and is often wrongly equated with chaos. Decentralization doesn’t mean disorder. It means rebuilding a system from the ground up. It’s when everyone has a voice, when we decide together, when there is no single center of power controlling everything, but instead a network built on trust and mutual responsibility.
That is exactly what we’ve been doing through plenums — the student assemblies that have been active for months at the Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Philology, FDU, the Faculty of Architecture, ETF, PMF, the Faculty of Mathematics, Faculty of Biology, arts academies and many other faculties. Decisions are made without leaders, without backroom deals, without commands. Everything is public, based on arguments and collective agreement. Plenums are the heart of the student movement. They are not perfect, but they are alive, free, and ours.
And then there are the blockades. These are not the end of something, they are a correction. Just like in a decentralized system, when an error appears in the chain, the network halts until it’s resolved. The blockades are a response to a malfunction in the system. We do not stop university life because we reject education, but because the system itself is no longer functioning properly. We halt the process until injustice is addressed, demands are met, and trust is restored.
Outside of the universities, people organize through assemblies — open, horizontal, and collective forms of resistance. It’s the same principle. No leaders, no party control, no passive spectators. Only accountability, care, and direct democracy.
The authorities try to portray us as chaotic and irresponsible. But the truth is, what we are doing is the most honest and orderly thing happening in this society — because it is based on openness, solidarity, and shared decision-making.
That’s why it’s important to understand that this is not anarchy. This is resistance to centralized power that wants to reduce us to silence and obedience. And in this struggle, we are like the Bitcoin network. There is no single server. There is no central node. There is all of us. Every plenum is one node. Every collective decision is one block in the chain. The blockades are proof that the network is reacting to an error. And just like no one can shut down Bitcoin because there is no single point of control, no one can shut down a movement that lives across dozens of faculties, in dozens of plenums, and in thousands of voices.
Our university is not a private company. It is a network of people who think, learn, and refuse to be deceived. That’s why we will not accept quiet sabotage, decisions made behind closed doors, or imposed catch-up classes without being asked. We are not asking for anarchy. We are demanding responsibility. And that no one — absolutely no one — decides without us.

POSITION OF THE FDU STUDENT PLENUM REGARDING MAKE-UP CLASSES
For over six months, we have stood in solidarity with our professors and fellow students from other faculties in the ongoing blockade.
The authorities are exerting pressure on faculty administrations and governing bodies, attempting to sow division within the academic community through a series of unlawful decrees—cutting salaries of teaching staff and threatening faculties with draconian financial penalties that endanger their operations.
We remind the public that the newly appointed Minister of Education is an associate professor from the Faculty of Teacher Education at the University of Belgrade, known for multiple allegations of sexual harassment against female students, which led to his prohibition from holding office hours. Such an individual has been given this position with a single purpose—to dismantle the university.
Let us also recall that before the student blockades began, the current regime had plans to introduce foreign universities into the higher education system with state subsidies and without the requirement of domestic accreditation. This proposal was to be implemented through controversial amendments to the Law on Higher Education, which recently prompted the formation of a working group to assess the current state of funding and to push reforms. These developments echo the passing of the contentious University Law 27 years ago. The crisis in higher education was not caused by the blockades—they are merely being used as a pretext to advance the government’s ultimate objective: the complete dismantling of public universities. The fourth demand of the students in blockade was adopted as a direct response to this threat.
The issues of repeating the academic year and enrolling a new generation of students have emerged as direct consequences of the government’s six-month-long refusal to meet student demands—at the expense of the autonomy, integrity, and dignity of the University. Through media manipulation and persistent pressure, the Ministry of Education is attempting to shift the blame onto students and professors participating in the blockade, casting them as the main culprits.
The academic councils of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, and the Faculty of Music have recently made decisions to initiate online instruction. Yet without students, neither the academic community nor the University can exist. We therefore deem it unacceptable and shameful to make such significant decisions without the consent of all student plenums.
The Student Plenum of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts unanimously refuses to accept the imposition of make-up classes now being forced upon our peers at other faculties of the University of Belgrade and the University of Arts, as a means to halt the repressive measures the ruling regime is carrying out against public universities and the academic community in Serbia.
Forced attempts to impose make-up classes would severely undermine the quality of education and violate fundamental academic standards. Returning to classes under such conditions will not preserve the functioning of the University nor “save” the academic year. The reputation, status, and role of the University and the academic community can only be defended by continuing our blockade and our shared struggle—students and professors united.
Until our demands are met,
The Student Plenum of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts

In line with our commitment to decentralization and horizontal organizing, we have joined the Primal network.
Primal is a social media platform built on the Nostr protocol — an open, decentralized communication system that enables free expression without censorship or control by centralized platforms.
Nostr operates through a distributed network of relays (servers) and uses cryptographic keys, allowing users to maintain full control over their data and digital identity.
This technology aligns seamlessly with the core values of our student movement: freedom of expression, decentralization, and resistance to authoritarian structures.
From now on, we also accept donations in Bitcoin — the only truly free form of money in existence.
Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that allows for direct, peer-to-peer transactions without intermediaries, reflecting our principles of autonomy and resistance to centralized control.
Your support means the world to us — thank you for standing with us. 🫂❤️

Bitcoin donations are intended for the students and staff of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) who are affected by the regime’s repression, and who have stood together in resistance for over six months — maintaining a faculty blockade as an act of protest and solidarity. It all began on November 22, 2024, when students were physically attacked, sparking a wave of protests and demands for justice, transparency, and protection of university autonomy. Instead of addressing these demands, the regime has responded with pressure, intimidation, and withdrawal of resources. Professors and staff — despite not receiving their full salaries for four months — continue to stand side by side with the students in the fight for dignified education and a free society. Donations support those who invest their time, knowledge, and energy in this struggle, despite personal and institutional hardship. Until the demands are met!

Change is for the brave. These kids are the real representation of bravery. Against all odds, they are choosing to risk their so-called “safe” futures because they believe a better one can be built.
Supporting Serbian students feels natural. They are the embodiment of the change we as Bitcoiners want to see in the world.
Stand with them. Back them. Help shape the future.

WHOEVER DRAWS A SWORD AGAINST A PROFESSOR
The President of the Assembly publicly attacked our professor Vanja Sibalić during her speech. She singled her out, once again reminding us of the culture this regime truly cultivates: targeting individuals to spread fear and exert pressure.
To the President of the Assembly, we have a brief message:
Whoever draws a sword against our professors ends up cutting only themselves—
because our professor merely reminded us that there are more honest, better, and more educated people than those in power.
We stand firmly with our professor.
