Does amethyst auto block people?

I'm getting a pretty weird behavior in Garnet with regard to a certain npub, I guess some specific person replied to something I said, I went to see it and he shows as blocked though I've never encpuntered him. When I go back to my notifications, his reply is gone. When I unblock, then go refresh, it shows blocked again. When I search the npub in primal using the same nsec, it's not blocked. When I search in Garnet using a different nsec, it's also blocked. If I follow it won't show as blocked.

I don't know if this is a bug or if amethyst is shadow blocking people in the client. Does anyone know anything about this?

In some Nostr posts from a while ago, I vented about how I hate YouTube's algorithm and how it incentivizes people to make sensationalist headlines and images.

Like, I'll do a serious macroeconomic interview with a great and well-informed host, and then when it gets published I see that the headline image is like a picture of the dollar exploding with me smiling next to it, along with a sensationalist text description, for the algo.

I hate that.

So I'm going to aggressively shill an example of the opposite. Someone doing it right. I did an interview the other day with an institutional investor and bitcoiner, who doesn't do that. He has normal headlines, and normal pictures, to talk about serious things. Robert Dewey.

Bob has basically gone out there and told YouTube's algorithm to fuck off. He has a small subscriber base, despite being a more informed interviewer than most, as a gray-hair institutional investor who also gets bitcoin at a really deep level. I've met him in person, and he's great.

So my shill for today is, go check out Bob's channel, and consider giving this interview or any of his other interviews a thumbs up. Let's be conscious regarding shitty algorithms, and highlight things that push back on them.

I have a community here on Nostr called PrivateSociety and I've been trying to figure out how to establish a society fully based on private property, which ends up going through the system of laws and the possibility of establishing this in a decentralized way, that is, through individual integration, through consensus/ unanimous and independent of locations.

Some here are already developing an anonymous and decentralized contract project, but these are contracts maintained only by the enforcement of payments in Bitcoin (passed on or recovered, after the contract has been fulfilled) and not by the enforcement of loss of reputation or more direct penalties, which It is much more complicated to produce due to anonymity and decentralization.

Re: overwhelming, start with the basics; a foundation. Once you understand the UNDERLYING TECH, the rest, is much, much easier to understand. Book I wrote (2001?) ... to get newbies to understand PGP (public key cryptography; what runs pretty much everything under the hood. Download (free): https://mega.nz/file/jsplULpR#4K6CmI1YqCSRZhiAj83hRHqi9DBpTkdIt0hWzilV3v8 Read chapters 3 (PGP) and if you want to go full cypherpunk, chapter 4 also (remailers). Chapters 1 and 2 were written back when no one understood the very basics of online security (thus are unlikely to be of personal relevance to you, you'll already get that bit). You can cover to cover the entire book in around 1 hour 20 minutes (tops).

I quite literally replied, "What, you mean like CATS?". Their reply "yes". I wouldn't have mentioned this but I hailed in an Orion Blue Fire Command 'UFO' (actually IFO, identified) ... to save my life just a few seconds after an assassination (which hit me, hence the urgency) ... arrived from USAF Space Command. A photon plasma = that's what I now realise I was looking at back in 2014. Yes, the craft was made of OR SURROUNDED BY a 'light plasma'.

Once you write something down and send it to someone they can choose to keep it forever. There's no way to enforce ephemerality.

The proper solution to people holding you to something you may have said at some point during your growth that you no longer agree with is to tell them you've changed your mind. If they still try to hold you to it tell them to go fuck themselves. That's the only way.

If it's something you don't want anyone but the recipient to know, make sure you trust them to protect and/or destroy the message and use a secure channel. That's all you can do.
