So the real numbers could be quite a bit higher. 💪⚡️
They are Bitcoin transactions, but not ones that are submitted to the chain in the normal case. The threat of a Bitcoin transaction signed by both channel parties is enough to keep everyone honest.

Hi nostriches! Sorry we had some unexpected slowness a few hours ago that made it hard for some to make and receive payments.
We've improved that system and things are running smoothly again.
We want to make sure things are working absolutely reliably for our upcoming Point of Sale feature!
Making it easier for small merchants globally to easily get started with Bitcoin is one of our priorities.

People are doing more, lower value zaps.
Alright nostriches some more data. Interestinglt it looks like zap count is increasing steadily overall (even without the spike from the zapathon!) which is great!
It's not ready yet for everyone, but maybe we should do an auction of maybe 50 custom names for those who really want one and don't want to wait.
Total payments is interesting too - this is globally across all of WoS, not just zaps.
