New study: lithium treatment extends human lifespan
Supplementation of lithium, an often overlooked trace element, led to decreased mortality with >3x lower chances of dying at a given age for lithium users compard to non-users. A large effect. In that study, significantly larger than exercise.

This large beneficial effect of lithium is in line with previous population studies where amounts of lithium in drinking water were shown to be positively correlated with a longer lifespan.
Lithium ability to extend lifespan is thought to come from the inhibition of GSK-3, an important regulatory switch for numerous signaling pathways. GSK-3 overactivity has been tied to rapid aging and a higher risk for chronic diseases such as diabetes, Alzheimer and cancer. Lithium supplementation has been shown to improve mood, to prevent cognitive decline, to protect from cellular senescence and to maintain longer telomeres.
The link between GSK-3 and aging and disease is so strong that the big pharma is investing big fiat money to develop drugs inhibiting GSK-3. But don't fall into the fiat trap: you can get 5mg lithium (as lithium orotate) for a few sats only with the same, if not better, efficacy and safety.
With sun, steak & sats of course!

Yes a nonsense. Our body produces way enough. Our GI tract secrete 400 times as much melatonin as the pineal gland.
I pass on this one, there are much better alternatives as sleep aids.
