๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Jeff. I have built atomic clocks โš›๏ธ and a e-health startup once ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ. Living in Reunion island ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ช

i like states, taxes and crypto

hope i won't get banned from here for saying that

how do you secure your keys?

i have them in a vault but entering a private key in many apps makes it more and more likely to be stolen...

reactions to this is crazy, thank you all for the warm welcome ๐Ÿ™

nice thing about an open protocol is that, contrary to companies and platforms, it can never disappear. once in the wild it can just evolve

Would people subscribe? Are you aware of any such thing? People pay creators for porn (OnlyFans) but I don't have another example...

I'd be curious to have nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m's thoughts on the short term/long term business model of a decentralized network like nostr.

I know a lot has changed since then, but some things we can compare nostr to are the internet, emails, etc.: all these things that are decentralized and based on open protocols. I think they were first developed in universities, without a real BM (basically public funding through universities?).

On the other hand, current SN move to being subscription-based for users (e.g. twitter ๐Ÿ”ต) and generate revenue for creators (many SN, not including twitter and FB ?). This tends to be easier with crypto.

So what's the next move in terms of BM for a decentralized crypto-boosted open network protocol?

I like open protocols, cryptography, and seeing people being creative.

In the long run, I expect such an open protocol to be just like email protocols: not so sexy companies making products based on it, but a tremendous amount of value being created for everyone. And in the short term, there will be winners if the protocol gains traction :-)

Curious to see all that unfold
