Google services have root privileges on the phone. Google could implement such a system with 0 effort, the same way Amazon deleted books from users Kindle.
anyways, until we use the Google services they might implement more aggressive policies in the future, such as uninstall "not-approved" applications no matter how they were installed

In Bitcoin the bugs were in the protocol, they had to be fixed. in the eth DAO it wasn't a bug in the protocol, was a bug in the smart contract. it's just like wanting to invalidate some Bitcoin blocks because someone sent some Bitcoin to the wrong address

I'd prefer having a self hosted solution. I'm pretty sure there is some good tool to read meme captions with a decent accuracy. I'm going to make a second round of searching for this very important task 🙂
