Thinking about how the #us was among the last countries to adopt the notion of #bankruptcy mostly due to “moral concerns” America always having cultivated a peculiar set of ideas about debt. And so the idea that one could throw up one’s hands renege on all debts and at some stiff price start over seemed…evil.
But then we turn around and hand the highest profile position of power to a serial & strategic bankrupter. (even as we roll up the paths to more modest forms of bankruptcy for the poor)

I’ve found some of the “children’s rights” people irritating in the way they present their ideas but, much like vegans, they have a large portion of we we ought to know to be right on their side.
Children are not property. They are people who deserve our assistance as they become. Many feel they have a right to determine who their kids should be. The opertunity to be the central influence in their lives for years is somehow not enough.

it was climbing up a wall when i found it. It seemed to me like it had bulbous head and a flexible “neck”. When transferring it to the paper it seemed to hang from the wall using a string. The leaf shaped section appears to be a hollow shell. The head and neck could disappear into the inside of the shell, even when hanging from the wall. Could it be a bagworm caterpillar? should i relocate somewhere specific? its in a potted plant for now

It's sad to see someone so helpless in such a cold environment with no one who runs up to take his hand or talk to him through the fear, which is all that he looks like he's feeling.
As much as I dislike him seeing an old man suffering is upsetting.
The total isolation says something about everyone, the culture-- I don't want to be a part of the "we let old men just stand there and have strokes in terror alone" culture.

Watched a right wing pundit (I don't care to name 'em, he's on fox) throw an exasperated fit over how there are *so many* indictments and charges against Trump. How they are coming from the feds, and multiple states and prosecutors.
But, somehow not realizing that the volume and diversity of the charges only adds to their credibility.
